    I'd love to but I can't get away from work. It's terrible what is happening down there and I commend you for trying to get down there to do what you can. My wife and I are taking a CERT class that starts tonight with the Lee County EMA. It's a 24 hour long class that meets once a week til November and will certify us for Natural Disaster work with the EMA.

    I didn't even think about it until I read this post. I lived with my uncle guy (technically my 2nd cousin) out in waco for 6 months before moving into my on place for another 1 1/2 years. After reading @stronghammer 's post I remembered mark, guy's son, moved to Houston awhile. Been chasing people down on the phone and my dad finally called back. Mark recieved NO flooding! Couldn't believe it. His aunt, guy's sister, bought an old rice farm on 10 acres decade's ago outside of Houston. Sounds bad considering what type of land rice grows on. Luckily due to good construction of years past, the plot their house was built on was built up enough that they only have 5 inches water inside. There house will be fine while houses nearby have 5 feet of water inside. Good luck on your trip scotty. Would love to come but with my job it's just not workable.

    Not sure that 255/85's would be any advantages chaining the trucks together vs 285/70's. Plus I've got a little more weight.

    Edit: Forgot your an offroad though, so your locker could make up the difference.

    And on a serious note mud tires do have softer compounds but the lack of rubber on the ground probably would offset that.
