Is it doing it all the time? The truck switches around to a cleaning cycle when you idle for awhile.

I heard it the other day and today and just wondering. I saw some YouTube videos o it and they say it's normal but I figure I'd ask around. It's been so freaking hot here in Modesto that all windows are closed and air conditioning on so not sure if it's consistent. But I started it up few minutes after I got home and could not duplicate it.

I know about the injectors but never paid attention to the other noise. Probably normal.

Start your truck and let it idle. It’ll toggle on and off every few minutes.

    Injector cleaning cycle. Normal.

Pretty sure they even talk about it in the manual...

Its in the Owners Manual, Direct Injection Engines suffer from Carbon Buildup issues, so they designed our trucks to switch to a cleaning cycle to help with that, it says it occurs during times of Idle like when at a Drive-Thru.

If I am not mistaken it switches to traditional Fuel Injection during the cleaning cycle.
