mine runs through the firewall since mines in front and through my center console. I have a magnet ball mount that holds it right by my hvac

 

So you just leave it connected all the time?

 

If you're sending them to Raleigh I think you might be alright imo.

 

yeah, i turn it on when i need it, i only disconnect it as a handheld when i do spotting up ahead for people

Ok that's where I have mine too. How do you mount the radio to where it isn't in the way?

 

mine is mounted next to the 4x4 switch by the hvac controls using nite ize
