Yea buddy! Feels good to finally get a grasp on this monster! I have put on hold all frivolous spending until I am 100% credit card debt free :D I looked at last month and I threw an entire pay check to credit cards while having the rest of the bills and mortgage paid

I scolded my Texas peeps on FB yesterday; well, only the ones that were bitching about having to spend 20 minutes in line to buy gas, and spend maybe $0.40 more a gallon than the day before. If life is rough when one gets to sit in their dry and running vehicle, and maybe spend an additional $8 to buy a tank of gas, there are plenty of folks that would swap their current lots in life...

Congrats! There are few things better then being debt free. I've been telling my wife that since I met her 17 years ago, and she now gets it. Negotiating is a lot more fun when the answer to the question, "how are you going to finance the purchase?" is "that's not for you to worry about"....

Yea I definitely screwed myself when I was younger and am paying for it now but the good thing is when its all gone I will have an awesome credit score because I have 99% on time payments (Thanks Kohls) and about 7 years of history so could be a lot worse. Thankfully my wife didnt have any debt what so ever so it's a lot smaller of a hill

She just admitted to being able to fill up at Sam's just fine, so I'm like "what's the problem?"

Jesus. Now she says that they're going to San Marcos to go tubing...on rivers that are now flooding Houston.

When I met my wife, she had $20K in credit card debt, and was leasing her vehicle, because she "liked a new car every three years". I told her I wasn't walking down the aisle with anyone that had credit card debt, and that leasing cars, for her reason only, was the equivalent of being a sharecropper; always working for the man and never owning your own land. (I actually did call her a sharecropper a few times; it's amazing I'm still alive to type this...). Not saying that marrying my dumb ass is all that much of a carrot, but the credit card debt was erased over time, and she just turned 100K miles on her Saab, which has been paid off for almost a year now.

Okay, I realize I've thrown out too many "get off my lawn" posts this morning! Have a great day, and if you can do anything for the folks suffering from Harvey, please do. I'm running the Taco down to Katy tomorrow, to bring back some dogs for Austin Pets Alive; it breaks my heart to see man's best friend suffering.
