So one of the Elevators had a bad call pick switch go bad today and had to call XXXX company out for repair today. Yesterday the Compressor went out in the AC unit so it has been ordered for replacement. The tech gets here for the call goes up the Machine room and the temp is 77 degrees. Tech tells me he cant fix it because Union rules state room temp is to high and we cant work on the equipment when room temps are above 75 degrees....I said Really WTF. Yes he replied. I said I guess you better get me a man or snow flake that doesn't melt at 77 degrees.

This is a 6 minute repair pull the plugin switch/pull two wires off the plugin switch/install two wires back on new switch and plug back in......

In DC these guys make $42/48 per hour depending on seniority.....

He was told to arrest her by his supervisor if she did not comply. The officer is not even on admin leave, he will not be fired.

I don't want to argue about this but wrongful arrests are BIG DEALS, just because he hasn't yet does not mean he will not. Also, it was just a passing comment to add fuel to the fire for a wrongful arrest. :hattip:
'A victim of a False Arrest can seek to collect for the following: (1) Time in Custody/ Jail (known as false imprisonment); (2) Physical Injuries suffered; (3) Violation of Civil Rights (when arrest is based on race, color or creed); (4) Length of prosecution; (5) Number of required court appearances; (6) Loss of Employment; (7) Loss of Earnings; and (8) Damage to Reputation.
    ...
In sum, the law affords victims of false arrests an avenue to recover for the various damages. However, victims must act expeditiously in filing a claim in order to preserve their right to file a suit against a municipality. If you feel you have suffered as a result of a false arrest, it is important that you contact a False Arrest Attorney in order to learn how to begin your road to compensation.'

It's actually been ruled constitutionally legal to resist a false arrest, too. These days, it's probably a good way to get shot, but it's something to keep in mind.

Edit- Not a lawyer, just passing along info.

Detective should not face repercussions iff (if and only if) his superior lieutenant made the call to arrest her if she did not comply. If the following quote is not true, the detective deserves repercussions. "His lieutenant ordered him to arrest Wubbels if she refused to let him draw a sample, according to the Tribune."

    That's just dumb.

We have constitutional rights in the country. Cops don't have unlimited power.

Dumb ? I guess that's the answer and the reason we have given more and more rights to people who break the law. Unless of course it affects you that is.

Was it handled wrong ...probably . But I'll be in the side of our law enforcement every time . Especially till all the facts are in. Too many times in recent history people have condemned our law enforcement officer both by the media and some parts of the public only to find later there were more circumstances that absolutely proved original reactions to be wrong. So I'm sorry, but until all the facts are in I'm going to stand behind law enforcement . So hate away

Heavily tattooed escaped inmate found in Pennsylvania

[IMG]© The Associated Press FILE - This pair of undated identification file photos released by the U.S. Marshal's Office shows Eric Judkins, an inmate at a halfway house in Manchester, N.H., who failed to return to the facility Monday night, Aug. 28, 2017…

CONCORD, N.H. — New Hampshire authorities say an escaped inmate with tattoos covering his shaved head, face, neck, chest, arm and hands has been arrested in Pennsylvania, three days after he failed to returnto a halfway house.

The U.S. Marshals' New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force says 42-year-old Eric Judkins was found at a residence in Howard, Pennsylvania, on Thursday night. He was arrested without incident, as was another man wanted on a probation violation.

Judkins, who failed to return to a halfway house on Monday night, was serving part of a 27-month sentence for assault on a fellow inmate in federal prison.

Authorities say the assault happened while Judkins was serving a 17½-year sentence for a 1999 bank robbery.

Judkins was scheduled to appear in court in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Friday; it wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer.
