What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I have these
Fox performance series 2.0 shocks
BDS suspension rear shocks 4" lift
Pt#98224953-1
17.57"compressed 29.82"extended
And sumo springs 1500lbs at 3" compression (black) meant for a tundra.
Now with the allpro expos I'll need to bring my lift closer to 4". I'm also thinking I'll need a shock mount relocate.

Finally got around to hitting the frame with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. Here it is dry a couple hours later. Truck was clean didn't have any rust but being in the Midwest I wanted to make sure I got the frame covered. There was some surface rust starting to show up on the welds.

Re calibrated th VCS computer, I like to do it every time I rotate tired/replace tires just because. Literally takes like 35 seconds.

Cleaned out the glove box, center console, and rear console.

Did the ziptie steering column trick.

 

Put a tank of shell 93 octane in so far I've got about 215 miles on the tank and the needle is still a hair above half full. I'll do some calculations but so far it seems like 93 octane will be the new gas that I run

 

Why?

 

I saw some people on a thread here saying they got better mpg with higher octane so I figured I'd try it ill probably run 3 or 4 tanks and then do some math to see if the higher octane is actually worth continuing to get

Picked up a BAMF behind the grill mount from a TW member. Had some rust spots from use.



Was going to sand it but found a local powder coating shop. Asked about sandblasting. Charge by the hour, $70 but only pay for how long it takes. Dropped it off yesterday to get done. Was going to prime and paint it myself. Shop called this morning, said they were running black powder coat and gave me a killer deal to do both. Couldn't say no. Super happy with the look of it. Flat black, smooth surface. Really nice. Worth it.



So got cracking on the bull bar delete mod. Took the grill off, mounted the BAMF bar, took the light bar off the bull bar, and put it all together. The bolts were all stainless steel, so hit them up with a bit of VHT high temp paint I used for the radiator, to black everything out.



Put the grill back on then took the bull bar off. All that's left to take off are two brackets that held the bull bar in place. They were a bitch to put on, so when I have more time.



Now thinking about taking that pc of plastic trim that's on the bumper and painting it black. We'll see.

Bull bar delete mod complete, almost. Just the brackets left.

 

Truck looks great without the bull bar.
