Why Toyota!!! Keyless unlock = stupid. 2017 tacoma

Hey all,

Ok first of all, I love Toyota, always have! Anyways, here is my problem..

Drivers side key-less unlock, its great! BUT!!!

1. WTF was Toyota thinking, ok So I go on a date with my girl and of course since i am an amazing guy, I like to open the door for my girl, ok no big deal right, ya passenger side, no key less unlock, I have to take my key fob out that i dont even use since i have key less start and click on the darn button to let her in!

ok by drivers side has the touch unlock, do people in japan not let their women in before they get in?

Am i alone here????

my Mercedes has all of this figured out, all doors have touch lock and unlock...

 

Can't answer the rest, but this truck was designed and built in the USA.......

 

passenger side would put a person at risk to someone jumping in and robbing you.

 

It annoys the Piss out of me. Should at least have it on the front door, but I'd like on all. .

 

My 2012 4Runner has keyless in both front doors. I would find it a little lame not to have both front doors work that way. Certainly not a deal breaker for me, but I would notice it from time to time.

 

Weird, I can unlock both sides of my Highlander by touching the door handle, not sure why they didn't make the Tacoma the same :/

 

Want it on more doors, then you have to pay more. My Lexus gs350 has it on all four doors, but that car was almost $60k.

 

One of these days I'm going to dig into it to see if I can add a handle... pretty sure it is possible from all my research on the Lexus credit card key.

But I have to say, if I had a Mercedes also, I'd be taking that on the date, not the truck.

 

That's funny that this came up actually. My girlfriend had this same "problem" the other day. She says, "Are you NOT going to open the door for me, I'm a queen!" Buutttttt oh well, she can wait. Good thing the door didn't open in my opinion

ah well... at least I now know I am not alone on this.... If it was an option, i would have done it..... Other stupid thing the truck doesnt have, darn-sun glass holder.... I like the toys they put there instead, but why are they there, its not offroaded that much, all of that should have been someplace different, it was almost like it was an after thought!

 

They took it out in the 2017? My '16 has it..

 

The answer is obvious, marry her. In short order dates, sex and verbal communication will cease.

 

I could sure use the touch on the pass. door, when I'm done work, I put my guitar on the pass. seat so I go to that door first.

 

I told my girlfriend if she wanted the movies she should've been an actor. 4.5 years going strong so it must not be important But seriously if you want to really lay it on thick just tell her to pause a moment, touch the drivers handle which unlocks all doors(or at least it does in mine) then make it a point to walk back around just to open her door.

 

Use the fob, works just as well. I get it's not as easy, but it works in a pinch.

Yeah it's annoying. Easy fix. Go to the drivers door then open it up and let her drive you around
