    Haven't seen Shooter myself.

I've been watching a really killer science fiction series though, "Black Mirror". The first 2 seasons are really short (3-4 episodes), but damn is it ever good!

    It's freakin' crazy, isn't it?

It's the best of Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, and Night Gallery all rolled together somehow.

Black mirror is awesome. They should have new episodes sometime this fall. I binged watch them all last spring, some great acting and stories.

Ozark is a pretty alright show too. I don't watch many series, breaking bad was one of the few that kept me interested.

Well currently, I'm putting up a pallet of packaged PC's that some putz put off peculiarly, pissing off personnel. Potential punishment will be pending.

So, the craziest thing just happened to me.

There is NOTHING going on here, I've been caught up on my work for some time so I went outside into the company courtyard. It's pretty dark, the night is cool and relaxing, and I see a small lumbering shape in the shadows. It's a raccoon, a young one, and he scurries up into a tree maybe 8' away from me.

We have rabbits and all kinds of cool stuff, but I've never seen a raccoon here. So I start baby talking him, "well, aren't YOU the cute one", that kind of stuff. He looks at me like I'm nuts but I kind of expected that, but oddly enough I could tell he was listening.

So he watches me for awhile with this incredulous look on his face, and he starts coming down out of the tree! I'm like, seriously? So I keep talking to him. Now he's at the base of the tree, still watching me. So I said, "what, are you coming down for a visit?" The little bugger parks his ass not 6" away from my feet and looks up at me! So I'm standing there, talking to this raccoon, middle of the night, close enough to easily touch him.

I put my foot out, 'cause he's close enough to where if he approached me because he felt I threatened him he could easily bite me. He only moves away a couple of inches, and then his little raccoon buddy comes up to join him.

What the fuck? Apparently, I must be the king of the freakin' raccoons or something. It was the DAMNEDEST thing!

We have raccoons everywhere around here at work. They've been trapping them but have only caught a couple. They get into all the trash cans. I ran across one on a catwalk 60 feet in the air, they come up here on the preheat tower to eat cicadas. There was one running around a month or so with a freaking paint bucket stuck on his head, it was funny as shit.

We also have a flock of 75 or so vultures on the 11th floor. They sit up on the beams all night long. In the morning they take off, but come back throughout the day. They use the heat from kiln for lift. It's really gross up there because they poop and puke all over the place. I've never gotten sh*t on yet, but I know people who have. It's weird going up there in the middle of the night, those are some big ass birds, and they sit and look at you.

We seem to have a bunch of buzzards here, too. I think they are confused. We got some people that move so slow, I think the birds think they are dead.

People ask me how many people work here? I always respond "about half".

We have a pretty balanced ecosystem here. There are quite a few rabbits, which have drawn the direct attention of a few owls. I'm just waiting for the day that some engineer or rep is out there from overseas and sees an owl take a rabbit.

In eastern Oregon one time with my Dad, we watched some bald eagles take an elk calf. It doesn't happen like you would think - the eagles go high and then come screaming down out of the sky, balled up really tight. They come down like a mortar shell with claws, knocking their target down, clawing it right before they take off up into the sky again.

It's BRUTAL, but was absolutely fascinating to watch.

It's typical to see people moving like that in the fab.

It is a pretty rough environment though, those suits aren't the most comfortable things - but it's weird when you bring in non-industry folks to see what happens (or more oftentimes not) in a wafer fab.

EDIT: I should add that I'm saying that with a fair amount of respect for what those guys do in the fab. I'm a former wafer-monkey myself, it ain't easy!

I wish we had raccoons around my work. We heard something that sounded like it was scurrying in the ceiling a while ago. I don't even want to know.

Well, if it's raccoons - apparently they're quite fond of peanut-butter granola bars.
