Morning all. Little chilly this morning. Got down to 42F overnight at the house. I needed gas in the truck yesterday. In the morning, regular was 2.55. I was running late and didn't stop. In the afternoon it was 2.79...

And now we have Irma heading west across the Atlantic...

Wife still has runs to make so I have enough for her if she can't find any.

Looks like a good time to fix mower. Again.

We were bought out several years ago by a large top 50 company. They've brought in all their bureaucracy. On top of this we implemented SAP (which I think is German for stop all production) and that's been a challenge as the mothership wants the production line to run their way instead of how it was designed. The products I make are very sensitive and are built to sort meaning you build the product and test it. Then after you have the results, you sell it to one of the several customers/programs that it will satisfy. It's the nature of the design of the product. To build it for a particular program would require much tighter controls on supplied parts and that would drive up cost tremendously. Heck, some of our parts are already toleranced in the millionths of an inch. The second issue is that our plant is the lowest revenue plant in the portfolio. We've become the training field for up and coming executives. All they've built are silos. Each department has their own goals which don't mesh with the others.

To sum it up, the boys and gals running the place need to get off of the carpeted areas and actually walk on the production floor. That's where the money is made or lost. We haven't turned a profit in over 3 years...

Yesterday Yeti donated 100% of sales to organizations. I volunteered to drive company truck 6hrs with supplies to coast but with gas delivery shortages I don't think it'll happen.
I just got new tools this week along with boots and Jerry cans. Was hoping to help in a non monetary way.

 I've only been to 1 show this year. The Roaring 20s is coming up. They've moved from Southbury training school to the Bethlehem fair grounds. I think it's the 17th. That's a big one.

Irma needs to turn and go back out to sea...

I "boycotted" Southbury after they wouldn't let my car in because it was "too new".
Identical 70's and 71's were let in, but not mine, even though the build sheet is dated 10/71,lol.

I'm not a big fan of big shows. Usually brings out the jerks. I'm sensitive... And don't like hearing someone pick apart the car. Yes, that's happened. Ass probably didn't even own one or know how to change his own oil. Car cruises tend to be a bit smaller and typically only car guys go to them. They appreciate what goes into restoring a car even if it's not your particular cup of tea.
