I wouldnt worry to on your temps. 205 at 60-70mph going a bit uphill in 90 degree weather was around what I get in mine. Mine even were getting up to 210-215 ish when it was ~100 degrees and going over the passes to San Diego in Northern CA. Generally mine runs 185-195 in normal Western WA weather and in the hotter weather its more like 195-205. With long passes in hot weather itll creep up to 205-215.

if it goes much past 220 thats when I would start worry

 

Since you have an 06' with the well known defective head gasket I would look for symptoms of that. It happened to me last year. Temps started running hotter, then I started noticing spots of dried coolant under the hood, then started noticing air bubbles coming back into the coolant resi when it was hot... if you see air bubbles coming out of the rad into the resi = blown head gasket amigo or if you hear air bubbles behind the dash = head gasket on its way out.

Good to hear buddy. Oh Yeah mine like barely ever went past 220. It still just seemed hotter than I remember. I know cleaning the radiator for sure helped! This long freeway trip for the weekend will tell me for sure.

oh no! Lol fuck me that would suck. Definitely gonna keep an eye out. Running constantly at 215-220 seems like it might accelerate that issue....

How would I see bubbles going into the resi though?

after it has been running hot put it in park and pop the hood and take a look at the coolant resi on the radiator. there is a small hose that goes from the radiator neck to the resi for overflow under pressure. if there are a lot of air bubbles in that overflow you're f'd. 215 - 220 is wayyyy too hot dude something is very wrong and you need to figure it out quick. If you catch the head gasket before it badly over heats then your heads will still be in good shape...but if you cook the heads and warp them your going to have a fat bill for a machine shop to mill your heads back flat before you can replace the head gasket.

We are on the road and the truck is running tits! Drives perfect! Steering is so nice with the new tie rods. Temps are so much better!! Never got over 205 on the huge hills on the way to Yakima. With AC on I'm right at 200 cruisin 75-80 mph. This little guy did the trick!
