    So the wife and I were talking about going a little west if it looks like Irma is gonna smack us on the coast. Any recommendations of safe places to go in central/western NC? We're not really scared or anything but it's a good chance to have a small family get away while the weather is crappy here. Thanks.

    So the Boone/Asheville area does look pretty sweet and we have talked about going. Doesn't it flood pretty bad out there though? We'd probably stay in Boone and visit Asheville.

    Flood in Boone? Not really, the Boone mall parking lot floods some but just don't park around front, over night, in a heavy rain and you'll be fine.
