I am personally staying 16" wheel. Because with either 265/75 or 255/85, even 285/75.
With the 16" wheel. I have more sidewall, especially when aired down. Which is a good factor to think of. IF you are going wheeling. If your really not going to wheel much. Then get what floats your boat. Remember, what you save in tire weight, you gain in wheel weight.

I agree. I will use my truck mostly off-road for hunting and some playing. I could get away with the 17 but I also prefer staying 16 if I can. I really prefer the General Grabber AT2 and to get it I would need to go with a 17. I prefer more sidewall too but the ZR2 if I'm not mistaken gets away with 18s (I'd never want that or the ZR2 FWIW). I just think it sucks that we don't have more tire choices. There are a ton of Tacos out there and you would think we would have more choices and not everyone wants to run a 55-60 pound E rated tire. Best of luck and let me know what you end up with!

Understood. The bottom line is I'm looking for the best aggressive C load range AT in 265/75/16. I don't need an E and I'm looking to save weight hence the C. Heck, for the right tire I'd do a SL tire. Now I'm wondering if I'd be better off moving to a 17 for more choices. I have also found that a lot of others are in the same boat as me.

I like that tire as well but it may be a bit heavier. I'm a fan of the new hybrid ATs but admit I don't know a lot about the X3.

Fits the bill for me. It's available in C and weighs under 50 pounds for 265/75/16. As the OP requested, I believe this is the most "Aggressive AT C Load Range 265/75/16."

Thanks. I will need to look at this one and maybe compare it to the Duratracs but I'd still like a true AT like the Grabber AT2. If you get it I'd like to hear your thoughts. I'm not buying until Toyota owns up to my rear diff issue.

X2 for wildpeaks. Had them for about 15k miles. Great mileage on a 3in lift. Have them in standard load. Wearing well no complaints

Where's the dislike button? That was brutal. Let's see how Herman gets them ready for USC.

Hats off to Durkin. He's done a lot with that program in 2 years, and has reason to celebrate tonight. Texas will be back for sure and in the meantime, I'll enjoy the ticket prices. Hook'em Horns!

    Been looking at Hercules also...

TerraTrac II comes in c load.
TerraTrac CXT is their duratrac. Only load E but 49lbs. A consideration.

I'm really not a huge fan of the CooperAT3 but the Cooper ATS isn't bad looking. It's the snow rated version and I hear it does well in mud.

Revisiting the Toyo AT 2 some as well load C.

I had the AT3 on my second gen and had issues keeping it balanced. It also just rode different, kind of like it was clumsy when cornering but hard to describe. The Dick Cepek Extreme Country is an E also and only weighs 47 pounds but that is a MT and more than I need. Hercules tires if I recall correctly are made by Cooper. Good tires. I have always had good luck out of Toyo.

I have had the toyo open country at2 LT265/75/16s load c tires on my truck for 17k. They have been great tires on and off road and are showing little to no wear in that time. They ride rougher then a p metric tire, but im not driving a car. I got one nail in a tire and the sidewalls are so strong, I could barely get a plug in without using all my force.

I also have a set of the E range 285/65/18 at2 extremes on my other truck. They have 30k on them and still look new. They also out perform most any other tire I've ever run including some MTs . I wish they made the extremes in the 265 16in size.

If i were to buy new tires today, I would look hard at the new nitto ridge grapplers.

I don't see it. But the E load tire is a reasonable weight for what it is.

    LT265/75R16 123/120Q 33310 E

    Weight- 54.9

Hmm, this is what I was thinking of: Not sure if they are still available, but they were a year ago. I went with P265/75R16 Hankook Dynapro ATMs.
