At quick glance didn't see anyone mention using a grit guard as part of the two bucket method. I use CG jet seal sealant twice a year (before winter and late spring), wax with collinite 845 wax monthly, and CG spray wax after each wash to prolong. If you intend to regularly clean, wash, wax your truck, I would pick up a porter cable to ease the process. I can usually wash and wax in about 3-4 beers now ( oops I mean 90 minutes).

Also I second using aerospace 303 for anything vinyl interior, it's great.

Keep an eye on Amazon as they usually have Chemical guys sales 30% off on the bulk gallons and I just stock up once a year.

Hope this helps, reach out with any questions we're a helpful bunch here!

The porter cable 7424 is amongst the easiest, safest, and best method to apply waxes, sealants, and glazes. Check it out here...

I think your Taco will be neglected just like your last car. This is why insurance companies charge less for new cars. After 2 years, ins. rate goes up cause owners don't care as much.

Don't forget about your truck underside. Fluid film it to protect from salt corrosion. Keep the whole thing looking good!

I tried different things on the Frame and they always made my truck smell like a chemical factory, last weekend I sprayed Cavity Wax all over the frame and thankfully it did not smell, will keep an eye on how it holds up.

Yeah, the fluid film is a little stinky, but it fades after just a few driving trips. It's worth the short term smell for no rust.

There's a million pieces of advice and product suggestions but in my opinion these are the most important:

-Use a good microfiber wash mitt

-Use two buckets, one for soap and one for rinse

    -Pat dry, don't rub

The linings they offer at the dealership, that they spray on like a rhino line, is it worth it?

Rule of thumb - anything additional dealership offers. Decline. You can do it far cheaper and better yourself.

I think really the #1 aim is to mitt wash with getting the absolute least amount of contaminates spread around- keeping a clean mitt, and bucket. There are a lot of little things you can do to reduce this.

Pre rinse is key. Keep a separate hose nozzle that's kept CLEAN just for washing, same with buckets, use dedicated wash mitt for body / fender area/ other areas that accumulate more dirt than the body does. I personally rinse the mitt with the hose after every section just to try and get rid of as much as possible.

EDIT: With regards to the dealership 'anti-corrosion' ANYTHING do not accept it. It's worthless. I use FluidFilm for underspray and it works great. There are a lot of things out there on the market that work better than the dealer bs

Are these FluidFilms difficult to apply with limited access to tools or space? I live in an apartment

No, it's easy. You will want to lay a large sheet or paper that you can throw away afterwards. Fluid film is a messy, almost greasy substance and will make any pavement slicker than owl snot. Wear clothes to throw away and take a shower after. It will leave a filmy residue since it's an aerosol type spray. I use the cans you can get at lowes for about $9 each. It takes about 3-4 cans for a taco. I clean the underside first, let it dry, overnight if possible, and spray away. It will be a little stinky for a couple of days and may make your exhaust appear to smoke but won't burn as it is made from sheeps wool ( lanolin), but then the smell will dissipate. I usually reapply in spring and fall, just before the bad weather sets in.

Fluid Film is very easy to apply...I used the spray can, no tools required. I just did my 2017 DCLB underside. 3 cans was enough for me!
