I cannot understate how smooth my afr's are now with that on. HUGE HUGE HUGE difference! It use to jump around on me quite a bit throughout the rpm range. Now pulls are super smooth afr wise. I'm steady between 11ish to 11.9ish depending on rpm. And I can pull after pull and it stays consistent at 11.5ish. That is INSANE again. Everyone that has a turbo has to do this I'm serious........the heat soak that it prevents is phenomenal. I noticed how hot my charge pipes were not just now but for a long time of monitoring them. And i mean very hot. I thought about wrapping them some time ago. I also saw someone did it recently. Again it is absolutely mandatory imo to do this. The heat soak it prevents is incredible.

@GioGuitarDude have you done this? I know you measure your IAT's and I'd be curious to see if you do this the before and after.

It really drives decent until I go above 60 MPH, then it wants to run lean. At a stop light, it will run lean for 5-10 seconds then richen up to stoich.

With meth injection, my intake is like 30 degrees cooler than any wrap could make it . I did seriously consider it though beforehand. My original idea was to put exhaust wrap and then slip over a bigger aluminum pipe over the wrap.

Well looks like my passenger side v band before the y is leaking a bit but i still thought it would spool some at 3k but ill see if i can address this one day. (please excuse the 30 seconds of me trying to get my phone to stand up) https://youtu.be/IviCcJgXG5E
I also realize that i wasnt holding it at 3k long enough to build any boost in this vid but i waa in my test drive vid; this was just to see if it was spinning freely

That fluctuation in idle rpm is bothersome. Are you still looking for a vacuum leak?

What do guys think of a built w59 vs a r151f up against a ls1.

Like the ratios of the r151 but i have a w59 in my 3rz....have 4.30s with 33.3" tires and i feel like the high rpms it turns may not be best for fuel economy

Like a 400hp clutch and see if a trans shop can build it to hold more power

W59 will likely hold that it's the transfer case that goes first

I've read on custom tacos a couple guys have ripped some gears out but all have said the t case should be good.

Kurt on CT broke 3rd gear on his W59 at roughly 350tq before he swapped to the 5vz 5spd tranny (I don't remember which R series that is)

The key to using that tranny is shortening the input shaft 1". He used a lathe to do so
