Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Man that's awesome. I've been wanting to ask someone about 4:88's or 4:56 so I'm glad I know you like the 4:88's. I have the same size tires and it could definitely use some lower gearing.

 

No not since June 9th, when he originally posted it...there have been a lot of requests, and ideas since then on what OVT can and can't do...thats the reason why I asked. Thanks tho

 

I have a 2017 TRD Pro Automatic. Do I select "2017 Automatic" or "TRD 4x4 with CRAWL mode"? I assume the "TRD 4x4 with CRAWL mode" however the lack of model year on that option is throwing me off given that all the other selections include MY

 

Watched thread since day 1 and read every post since. Finally pulled the trigger and will patiently wait, order #2022. Thanks OVTune!

It being a pro isnt anything special. Its a TRD off road with different shocks.

I understand what the Pro is and isn't...so don't assume Im uneducated on what I bought. The issue is there is a selection for both 2017 Automatics AND TRD 4x4 with crawl mode. As has been pointed out, my truck fits both criteria. Now I do understand that crawl control is only available on automatics, however there is no model year indicated for the crawl option like there is for 2016 automatics and 2017 automatics.

Again, I assume I need to select the Crawl option but there would be less confusion if it was stated as "2016 & 2017 TRD 4x4 with CRAWL mode" or "TRD 4x4 with CRAWL mode all MYs"

 

I have a '17 TRDP with the tune and asked the same question. People think you're being pretentious when you ask a question about your Pro, like you're somehow special, when in reality you just want the correct product. With that said, choose the "with crawl control" option.

Welcome to the club - happiness awaits. After spending the last 2 days loaded down with gear zipping through the mountains I couldn't be happier with this truck. That's saying something. 1.02 and beyond are gravy... but, who doesn't like gravy??

I'm still very interested in the possibility of the S-mode gear lock, and really hoping that @OVTune can make it a reality.

 

Almost ready to pull the trigger, but have a couple of questions ,

1 Is 1.02 a 87 or 91 octane tune ? There has been so much talk about doing different octane tunes I just want to clarify what 1.02 is.

2 How difficult is the install using a Mac Book Pro ?

 

I'm surprised that my 3 reviews and videos weren't useful. Sorry man. I'll go delete them. Hopefully he makes a special tune just for the TRD pro engine! The hood skewp allows more air to the engine so he can definitely adjust for that.

 

I'm sure a pro tune will yield as much gain as that TRD CAI gave you
