Sounds like that might be a good plan, as other have said I'm committed as long as tax tag title it's 700 or less.

I dunno how it got confused but I am Located in Orlando Florida, but am willing to pick up from docks wherever in Florida with @docloco and drive out to deliver if the fastenal shipping ends up being more expensive than a direct port of Florida and the Tacoma underground railway.

Doing some rough gestamation math if we even had only 5 orders deliverd to Florida and I were to trailer them along the east coast states as far up to DC it would be about $75 per person for delivery from me given fuel costs. Less depending on route and such.

I'm committed for the original 2-3 person model +$50 Annex. My cutoff is $750 for that package, in line with others on the east coast. Thanks Key-Rei and docloco for giving us some solid options.

That being said there are some important things that need to be clarified.

East Coast people
1) As mentioned previously a bulk of the orders are going to California and Texas. The only outliers on the list are
@Stoach Pierogi in Pennsylvania, @Jerneyman & @Key-Rei who are both in Alabama. @mlevinson in North Carolina, and @Jibbs in Ohio.
The vote seems to be in favor of @Key-Rei who is in Alabama, but has said he could handle the shipment in Florida.
Mobtown is not on the list. Although he was interested it does not seem fair to add him without the group approval, and since the vote seemed to have gone to @Key-Rei , I don't think its fair to add him to the list when there is already a list of people who were interested past the 20 mark. More on this later.

2) So it seems the only thing we are waiting for is the final price, and the cost of shipping to Texas. East Coast people are in an unfortunate circumstance where they will probably have to pay more for it to be shipped from California to Florida. I don't know how much this will cost, but I assume it will add another 100/200 to the order. If this is a deal breaker that is fine. Just let me know and I will add someone else to the list. My recommendation is for you guys to pay a member to go down there and get it for you all. That seems way cheaper than having it individually shipped to your location. Again, if this is a deal breaker please let me know.

Interest is not commitment

I understand that there are still things up in the air. We don't know how much the final price is going to be, and we don't know how much it will cost to be shipped to Texas/East coast, and if the East Coast people (5) will even want to participate in this group buy after they have read this message.

The earliest we can get an answer to these questions is Tuesday since the manufacturer is in China. Francis also has a life, as well as I. That being said, I am committed to buying one. I was committed at the $700 mark. It will probably be lower than that, but again, nothing sure. You all need to be honest with me, and yourselves. There is a number in your head that is a cut off. I need to know that number, feel free to PM me or say it here. Your preference. I mention this because there are/is A LOT of interest still in people wanting to get in on this. I quit updating the list because it was too much work. A good bulk of these people, somehow, and again, are in California and Texas. So this next part I state out of full transparency, and so we all know the rational behind the action:

If you are not willing to pay more than $600 for this tent, all costs included, let me know. As stated by Francis on his post, we need people who are ready and willing to pay when we start phase 1. We cannot have, and do not want, to be held up by people who are not sure, or don't have the money. We have to move as a group. That is one of the reasons why we capped it.
If $600 is to much for you, I will put someone else on the list who is committed, giving priority to the shipping location and price IE: California and Texas interest.

It should be mentioned that this is my first time doing this. I do not have a bias towards California/Texas. You guys can go back and re read this entire thread. That is where the majority came from.

If this goes smoothly and positively, we will do another round. If it seems the East Coast guys got screwed, it was not on purpose, and pending the success of this GB, I will try and make one especially for this group, and part of the country.

If any one has any grievances, let me know. I am trying to be transparent and fair, and I want this to be successful.

I'm interested pending final cost to the east coast (VA 22443). I would say my cutoff with shipping would be around $750. If you have a shipment going to TX then it might make more sense to do east coast shipments from there as it's half way across the country already.

One thing I would like to know though is how many tents fit into a sea container? It seems more logical and efficient to put the limits at a full sea container or multiples thereof, instead of the current seemingly arbitrary limit numbers.

So California is capping out at 12-15 as Francis does not have any more room. Now I am in Texas and am handling that batch. Pending @Texoma 's help and approval, I am willing to do a bigger batch to Texas in order to get more tents.

I have no idea. Francis is in contact with the manufacturer. I will try and find out when they get back to us with pricing.

California (Danville) and Houston Texas. But there is a hard cap in CA of 15.

Well there are a lot of people interested and I did not think we would have this kind of turnout. Good news is that we will probably do it again pending the success of this.

Please stay tuned and sorry we couldn't acomidate a bigger batch. This is our first time with this large of an order.
