3rd gen 6 foot bed vs. 2nd gen 6 foot bed ??

Question: Does anyone know for sure....are the beds the same size....exactly ?

The reason I ask....I have a 2nd gen access cab with a 6' bed, and I am considering a new 3rd gen. Will my bed mat and my bed cover fit the 3rd gen ? Just curious...

 

Bed Mat yes, not sure on the bed cover as the tailgate top is different

 

I can't speak to the cover, but the bed mats are interchangeable. The only substantive changes to the beds between the 2nd and 3rd gens, omitting the visually obvious, is the tailgate and depth or height of the bedsides. The 3rd gen has a taller bedside/deeper bed.

And the top lip of the tailgate is a lot thicker
