I don't know how to do that lol but I've got a 2004 Toyota Tacoma and the frame is rusted pretty bad but I welded some plates on it to keep it together would that void on getting a new frame where I welded some plates on the outside of the frame you can tell it's rusted through on the inside of the frame

Only way to find out for sure is to give your dealer a call. If it had the preventative coating it should be covered.

I think he's referring to getting a frame replacement through recalls

I would doubt it. Take it to your Toyota dealership or call Toyota Corporate and check with them.

I believe I recall seeing another person who welded plates to the frame and Toyota all but told him to kick rocks because he had altered the frame...and his plates were not near the areas of concern around the spring hangers etc

Still the only way you will know is by calling a dealer and if they turn you down give corporate a ring.

I needed a work truck to go back and forth to work and I lost my job and had to let my other truck go back so I had to have something to drive for what money I had saved up

I'm highly doubting Toyota is going to replace even
Yeah , but you would not buy a rusted out or molded dry rot house ...I hope. And then want someone to fix your mistake. I guess stranger things have happened.

agree, especially if there are plates welded to the frame by OP or a previous owner

It all comes down to if it was inspected and sprayed by 2011.

Now unless things changed from my dealers Service Manager attempting or fixing any any frame failures does not exempt your truck.

I know I did some repair work on trucks that had frames replaced after the fact .

It comes down maybe to the fact all dealers are Independent so can use anything to wiggle out

To the majority of Tacoma owners it was just chance they bought one.

We still see every week it seems people being caught unaware
