So....go ahead a say it - I'm an idiot! I've had my 4x4 DC OffRoad since June of last year. I just noticed the other day that its missing the OffRoad Package's Engine Skid Plate! Problem is - I bought the truck in SoCal. I'm now back in New York.

I'm 99% positive the engine skid plate I paid for, but don't have, is separate from the black, standard one that comes with each Tacoma underneath the engine (that one I do have). The silverish one should be in addition to the black one, right? I paid for the JBL OffRoad Package.

Should I go to a dealer and mention it? Thanks for any feedback and suggestions. I think I got shat upon.

    I've lost track
I think the silver one is a TRD skid plate...but isnt included in the TRD package. Did you specify which skid plate it was coming with??

I know my last tacoma, an '05 came with the engine skid plate, and I paid nothing extra for it. It was just a SR5 truck. The new DC I got stated it separately on the dealer's list of features, including in the OffRroad description, like it does online. If the black skid plate is all I paid for, the I'm OK with it.

You should have two skid plates with the Off Road - but neither is the silver one. The extra plate on the Off Road is further back on the chassis and bolts to the cross member to the rear of the steering rack. There is no extra charge for it and comes standard with the OR package.

The silver skid plate you are referring to is an accessory from Toyota and is not included or installed at the factory - dealer item.

As mentioned, the silver one is an accessory available on all models and purchased from your dealer. It's not a factory item. So unless you asked for the accessory skid plate from your dealer, you wouldn't have it.

well unless you made a special deal with him your not going to get it, it doesnt come on a stock taco or, it only comes stock on the rugged trail edition, and I dont think they sell that anymore.

Clearly you don't understand the legality issues behind this. Trust me, I'm all for it but you can't just make marijuana legal and expect all of the government corruption to go away.

Better than his first post. That one bumped a 4 year old thread for no reason.
