There is a book written by William Forstchen named "One Second After". I strongly encourage anyone interested in the subject to read this book. It describes a real world scenario of DPRK launching an EMP attack on the U.S. It's not pretty. As of yesterday, DPRK is capable of this type of attack and has made threats to this effect.

Imagine everything that runs on electricity being shut down for months to years in the U.S. This would bring the threat directly to our door step. No fuel, no refrigeration, no air conditioning, no transportation. Pentagon did a study stating up to 90% of the population would be destroyed in the chaos, needless to say the world economy in total collapse. This is as real of a threat to us and our way of life as we know it.
Yes, unequivocally yes, I would join in the fight.

Your bicycle would be your main transportation. Positive solutions, I like that. Horses would be valuable again as well.

We would lose too many troops, we will drop bombs and missles on strategic locations. Ground troops will only be used after. War has changed, its about technology.

Pretty terrifying book. Society breaks down quickly when there's no food, no medicine, no law.

Look at New Orleans after Katrina hit, roving gangs shooting at random first responders, rapes at the dome. Shit goes downhill fast in desperate times. I hope and pray this all blows over without a conflict. I like puppies and spice and everything nice just like the next guy, but best to be prepared for reality. Better to be a living realist than a dead optimist.

Not that we are aware of, but they also don't carry humans. I can't say yes it will be a drone war, but I am fairly confident it will not be a ground war, until after the bombs have been dropped. NK has a large large number of troops, we would be dumb to go in on the ground at first. And let's think about this for a minute. Trump is going to get shit no matter what he does, attack and the left will protest about NK lives matter or some shit. Doesn't attack and the right is going to get pissed he is being a wimp. So when he does attack, it will be heavy air attack. Or just maybe the CIA or what ever spy organization kills the crazy NK fool.

it seems like there is always a period of time before something catastrophic event is about to occur where you can load up your belongings and head for a safer area before it may or may not hit in your area, but most people just stay put like in Houston, New Orleans Katrina, hurricane Sandy most folks didn't get out when there was adequate time to do so must be human nature. I can see this same scenario maybe occurring now with the Korean Nuke threat these areas that may be in range of the Korean missiles people don't even think that it might be better to make a strategic move to somewhere else at the time when it can be easier than at the last minute where there would be widespread panic. I cant help but to think myself about loading my truck getting gas and essentials together and ready to move out if a nightmare scenario suddenly arises and get out before its impossible to do so, but where to go? Canada? forget Mexico or going South those people will rather harm Americans than to offer any sanctuary to them. A lot of crazy thoughts go thru your head now that an crazed lunatic with a hydrogen bomb and seems willing to use it, or even accidently could start a nuclear war by mistake, easily.

wow that's crazy destruction, how the hell do you rebuild after that or even survive it? I think the work ethic or temperament of the people who live there have a lot to do with how fast things get rebuilt, I noticed during hurricane Katrina watching the news there were a lot of able bodied well fed people standing around doing nothing, when they had National Guard troops policing up garbarge and cleaning up,suppling meals etc. whereas in Texas or Mid West those folks took to work right away getting things cleaned up with minimal assistance from the Gov. that was just my observation. where I live after hurricane sandy hit all power was of,limited cell phone reception etc. but I went right back to work the very next day repairing washed out highway ramps that needed to be up and running as fast as possible, lots of work cleaning up to be done getting things back to normal, there was no time for slackers when things like this happen.
