I contacted Savannah Toyota today and they acted like they didnt know what I was talking about. They said I needed to wait for a letter in the mail to get the rear spring TSB done. I called the toyota 1-800 number and after 45 minutes they gave me a case number. This sounds like it is going to be someones opinion vs my own. Does anybody have any advice for me, there is a Home Depot and a Lowes right across the street. In truth I just want it cause Im getting bilsteins in the front.

You don't need a letter, just print out and bring in the TSB. Why would you need a letter to tell you if you think the ride is harsh?

You won't get a letter because it's not a recall. Print out the TSB I've attached a link below. Inside your door jamb you should have have a yellow sticker indicating the payload capacity was decreased on the truck, let them know you will be hauling heavy loads (boat or something) and need every pound you can get.

My TSB was approved last week and the mechnic said this is the first TSB he has done/seen so I'm not suprised they didn't know what you were talking about.

    Good luck, keep us posted.

Good luck. I asked my dealer bout getting this done and they pretty much said I have to load the truck up to prove this issue. I haven't contacted Toyota yet I did email them but got no response. I guess I'll have to call the 800 # soon.

Good luck. Here is a pic of that sticker I was talking about. It would be hard for any dealer to argue you don't need the TSB if you have the sticker.

Your profile notes that you have a TRD OR, they are not going to change your shocks, you already have what the TSB calls for. If anything they are going to swap out the 3 leaf pack for the 4 leaf pack, some have received the 3 leaf pack. I have not gone for the TSB as I really enjoy the ride. I have loaded down the truck with landscaping park and floor tiles and setting mix and the truck rides the same. I don't tow a trailer or haul dirt bikes so I'm a happy camper stock.

    crap bolted and welded together....
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.

^^^ is there anyway around that? i have an 06, with 43000, And i haul all the damn time and even a small pot hole makes me hit the stops when i got stuff in the bed. But i think im just screwed and should go buy a new leaf pack set.

That sticker has nothing to do with the TSB.

I have that same sticker but I never put it on my truck.
Last week I printed out the TSB and told them that the ride was terrible with my motorcycle in the back and they went ahead and ordered the parts.
Got the car back today and I do indeed have new leaf springs.

I think now is a good time to be pushing the TSB's, especially with the news
that the dealers were made aware of acceleration issues via TSB from Toyota.

If they gave you the 3-leaf pack, they didn't do what they were supposed to. You are supposed to have 4.

I have 4. And I marked the old ones before it went into the shop to make sure I didn't get the run around.

I got the run-around and after showing a tech the harsh ride running around off road he told me that he saw the issue but couldn't do anything about it. I have since been working on doing it myself via lightly used leafs and Billies. Cost me 140 in parts in BST. Right now I am short for time so I am only running the rear Billies, but that alone makes a huge difference.

If anything the issues in other vehicles made my experience worse since the local dealerships are swamped keeping those people happy and swapping out gas pedals. They were really just trying to make me go away.

My dealer gave me no BS at all. I mentioned a rough ride when loaded and got a phone call within a few hours saying the parts were on order. They did screw up a little on the install though but it's all good. TSB and 5100's at 2.5 and I think it sits perfect.
