Thanks for this, I had just assumed that I was going to have to live with the squeak for the life of my truck, and it started 400 miles in. When the dealership called to let me know that my rock sliders were in I asked about the bulletin, and they said, "oh, the recall, sure we can take care of that for you." Hopefully its that easy when I drop it off Saturday.

Mine started squeaking after about 33K miles. I pressure washed and lubed between the leaves myself ... it seemed better for a while, but slowly came back. Really annoying. So this weekend I took an 800 mile trip, with about 50+ miles offroad including some pretty rough crawling using 1st gear 4 Lo and many water crossings, followed by 300 miles dry highway home. Now it's silent! So you can go to the dealer, or just go wheeling. I know which is more fun! Seriously, this may be a fluke but it worked for me.

    Nil.... For now.
Is this active in Canada as well? I haven't heard a thing from my dealer. I though I'd just have to deal with it because I go through water occasionally but damn is it loud and annoying.... It's honestly so bad that I don't think a little bit of water can cause this as I lithium greased the hell outta my leafs.

I got this recall done and so far my sanity has been returned back to me!

Thank you Toyota for fixing this! Hopefully that was not premature.

I just left the dealership. Driving it for about 12 miles. Problem fixed. No more squeaky noise.

    ...

so fast forward to today. I take my truck in and leave it for service. Report the issue. Get a call back. "Our techs can't hear it". JFC I almost feel like I'm in a bad movie. It's getting a bit comical.

I called them back and gave them the TSB number and explained the sound more precisely, but they "will have them look at it again tomorrow".

Sorry to hear that man. Its hard to find a good dealership with good techs willing to take each job with diligence these days. I live literally 2 minutes from a Toyota dealer but I choose to drive 45min to anther just so I don't get this type of runaround by lazy incompetent techs.

I just dropped off my truck this morning and told them about the squeak. Didn't know about this TSB. Hope they checked this.

After I called him back and read the TSB to him, he said they would take care of it. It took two days to get my truck back (no big deal; in a loaner taco). Got it back tonight and checked out the spacers visually and had my GF jump on the bumper and no squeaks. SWEET! (I turned my attention to a skid plate bolt that they supposedly got out, it was stripped, and replaced. It was completely missing so that was a fun.)

Until I got home and was driving down to my parking spot. SQUEAK SQUEEEAAAAKKKKK SQUEAAAAKKKKK :bananadead::bananadead::bananadead:I guess *I* should have jumped on it at the dealership. (Thankfully? yea thankfully) my gf isn't heavy enough to cause it to squeak.

I have been defending the dealership until this point, because their service manager is awesome. Unfortunately, that shop is retarded. When I'm not dealing directly with Chris (the service manager) shit never gets done without a fuss and when it gets done, its done poorly.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

My truck is going into the dealership tomorrow. They are changing out the Leif’s and a new driver side door hinge and seal. Parts took two weeks to order in. I will report back tomorrow. They estimated the time for both repairs to take 4 hours. Ugh ...

So the leaf spring squeaking fix has been out for about a month & half. Surprised not seeing this thread busy with comments. Recently noticed mine squeaking over minor speed bumps.
