The OEM battery died a quick and catastrophic death at 4 years, 1 month and about 3 days. Appears it had an internal short. No warning just died. I just serviced the battery about 6 months ago and it was all good, ran a load test (borrowed a digital tester), cleaned terminals, checked fluid level etc.

To those who have drilled into the composite bed, what kind of drill bit are you using? I need to clean up the wiring to these new lights lol

Also, I'm thinking I may try and find some sort of connector to mount in the bed, that way I can just unplug the section of harness on the rack when I take it on and off...

Similar to something like this that just stays permanently mounted to the bed

Couple questions: what size tires are those, what is your suspension setup front/rear, what kind of radio is that antenna for. I've been mulling a Yaesu 8900R for my rig.

    Good looking truck right there.

I used a bit labeled for wood, plastic, metal. I tried a bit labeled only for wood. It wouldn't stay on the mark. Drilling the composit bed produces a lot of fine dust. Wear a dust mask and wash the dust away after each hole.

For anything bigger than 1/2", I would use a hole saw.

    too many lights
Also used a bit for plastic and wood to start a real small pilot hole, then a larger bit, then turned a step bit by hand until my LED bolts fit flush.

No problem. There was a user several years ago that upgraded his truck to an electronic fan set up and posted a how to somewhere (it may have been on TN). IIRC it gave him more cosistent and colder ac temps, and boosted him a few hp due to less drag on the motor (because he removed the clutch fan).

Thanks for the heads up man. Its still a shit show here in kerrville. People are lining up down the sides of the road to get gas. Luckily i was able to get a couple cans w/ a few extra gallons out in junction so i should be alright until things settle down again
