Looks good! Most people are removing their TRD chrome grill and putting on SR or Pro grills. Kudos for being different.

To each their own. If they like everything black then go for it. I like chrome. Other than the Limited fog lights I will stop there. I am backing away from the stainless bed rails now and working on some ideas for a bed rack system for my bikes instead.

I'm with you on the chrome. If I had money I would have more chrome on my truck. :( Your truck looks great...
I display my chrome badges proudly. And my black chrome OR grille!

Aloha tacomaworld I'm Jordan from Maui this past Tuesday I finally took ownership of this brand new 2017 Barcelona Red Extra Cab 4 cylinder 5 speed truck. Waited 4 moths for the dealer to order this in for me. The only option it has is the rear seat delete and solid rear window. I've bought a bed mat from the dealer and I got it tinted those are the only mods so far.

Anyone run a set of fj cruiser trail teams wheels on their sr? They are 16's but I'm not sure about backspacing and offset, I searched and found alot of 1St and 2nd Gen's running them but not any 3Rd Gen's I could find.

I just bought a black one with convenience package and step bars added, it stickered for 33,500 and I got it for 29,500 but I get employee pricing but don't get very good discount on Tacomas, dealer I bought mine from doesn't come off sticker much they don't have to, the will sell them anyways.

They should fit fine, remember though being an FJ rim they are 8" wide and have just a bit more offset, I believe around 10mm or so.

All the second and third gen trucks have the same factory offset rims.

Just be careful as there are lots of copies out there, they usually are listed as TRD "Style" rims,

I'm sure they would look great on a third gen but I haven't come across one yet.

Also they come in three colors too, Silver, black and a gunmetal or anthracite.

Post up if you get em, we would all like to see it.

You know, this is one of my favorite threads! I own a TRD sport Manual, but I really identify with you guys. No bitching, whining, etc, just enjoying your trucks! I was off road almost 50 miles yesterday and here in the mountains of Appalachia, that's no easy task lol. Loved it and I enjoy driving and making my truck unique just like you guys. Keep it up!

So I picked up a 17 SR 5 speed with the convenience package, 4x4, yada yada, and I gotta say, I absolutely love the darn thing. I'm coming from a long list of performance cars too, (mk3 Jetta VR6, stage 3 mk5 GTI, modded BRZ) .. still, gotta say, this truck continues to put a smile on my face every time I hop in.. sooner or later ill get a picture of it on here. Just wish I sprung for the Barcelona red... damn that truck posted a few posts ago looks good...

The red sure does capture you doesn't it,

Me and the wife have always been silver people! Lol... Whatever that maens.

I've had silver Civics, RSX, third Tacoma and she has a CRV but every time I see that Barcelona red I think to myself you know I'm not as young and stupid as a used to be, which translates to I'm not out looking for a mud pit are trying to get scratches on a vehicle however maybe I could keep it clean enough that it would look good six or seven or eight years down the road.

That being said I guess on the inside I might be kind a lazy is it really only wash my silver Tacoma maybe four times a year, it does get a good wash, clay-bar and wax and polish or polish and wax whatever once a year.

The one that did me in on Barcelona red was this one!

On a side note it looks like the wife and I are going to hold tight for a couple months and see with the 2018s offer in the way of the strip down four-door model, every time I drive my little 2015 base model truck to work (it's a five speed) I do enjoy driving it and I want to keep it but it's just not practical for us right now.

We also have a 2000 Land Cruiser that is kind of a therapy car with some cleaning and small maintenance stuff. Keeps my mind churning and stuff.

I'm just not sure we need three cars.

Being 8 inches wide would I run into issues? I'm not planning on putting much bigger tires on, maybe 265's at biggest, I don't want to hurt my gas mileage much. If I get them I will probably order them from Toyota, I think I get a discount on parts, but it will probably be after first of year.

You should be fine, the 265s looks really good on an 8 inch wide wheel and looks a lot taller on a 7 inch wide wheel,

I honestly don't think I ever read of anybody rubbing with the 265/70 R16 or the 265/75 R16 on a factory 8 inch wide wheel that was designed for an FJ.

Ever see the Trail Teams FJs? that was a 265/70 R16 KO on a 16x8.

Here's the thing, the Ivan Stewart wheels were originally designed if I remember correctly as an accessory wheel for both the first generation Tundra the 2nd Gen Tacoma and the Toyota FJ, the offsets all coincide to work on all three of those models, but on a 2nd Gen Tacoma they look really good because it's just a touch wider offset than your 7 inch wide stock wheel is.

I'll see if I can find the thread to link you to it but there's a thread in the second GEN forums that shows all third GEN Tacoma wheels on second GEN trucks and they look really really good, as do some of the 17 inch rims from the 4runners.
