I watched Spike TV's show where they built up the Tacoma. I have to say that it irritated me. I love these shows, but I think they should do it on the one of our budgets rather than blowing like 20 grand a show. Anyone else feel a little this way?

I agree.....however, you gotta understand.... It's all about the sponsors & the money. They use certain products because they're getting paid to promote them and use them.

they do both builds. there are builds where they use the best of the best and say so, and they also do budget builds for the more common folk (me) with realistic budgets. i do agree that the tacoma is way under rated for a recreational vehicle. very versatile and i wish they would throw a tacoma in there once in a while. im a big fan of the older ford, jeep, and chevy builds, but its like ever other episode is one or the other. throw a toyota in the mix and i believe they would have a good size jump in viewers. not everyone is a ford/chevy/dodge guy with 40,000 to blow on a toy. come on TRUCKS ! show some friggin Toyotas ! oh and be realistic with the builds. average joe likes to go wheelin too.

You know what annoys me about those shows.... Isn't that they use expensive stuff, but the fact they DO IT ALL WRONG.

Although I can't give specific examples....but they'll put on parts/mods that are otherwise NO NO's on most forums.

Say for example, they'll use blocks and big body lifts. Or, in the jeep world - they'll use a transfer case drop for driveline vibes (that's similar to a carrier bearing drop but WORSE because you're taking away ground clearance).

Is it the one they first advertised on 3/13 (http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-tacomas/80739-trucks-spike-tv-1st-gen-4x4-build.html)? If so, sh!t...I missed it. If you mean that you're pissed that they aren't getting-on-with-it: Yeah, I hear you; they need to finish that Jeep and move on to paydirt. Regarding TRUCKS! budget: The more $ the better...let's see what unlimited resources could do to a 1st Gen.

I think the taco build is right around the bend...it better be...I'M PRIMED!

it hasn't been on yet. They were just talking about future shows and talked about the taco. Whenever the new season starts is when we should expect it to be on.
