Toyota claimed in the letter to dealers of June 17 that they would be sending out notices beginning "...in August 2017 and will be mailed over several months":

I have not yet received anything re either the CSP for the CRC treatment, or warranty enhancement for frame replacement. Obviously August 2017 has come and gone, has anyone received any notification of either the CRC campaign or frame inspection/replacement warranty enhancement program?

For my '09 the Toyota "customer service" website shows this--again, it appears they are starting with the CRC campaign (exclusive to the rust-belt states) first...:

My wife and I have been "Toyota people" since the early 80s, and have owned mostly Toyotas since. Currently we have a 2003 HIghlander with 225k miles and my 2009 Taco DCSB with 141k--damned pleased with both. Her '89 Celica GT at 408k when we traded it on a '96 RAV4 is our record holder, an '85 Corolla (last of the RWDs) I bought new comes in second at 378k when sold in 1998

But I have to ask, WTF is going on with this company?

'Toyota, at its discretion, may also periodically mail reminders of this benefit to Class Members after the issuance of the Final Order and Final Judgment. The reminder notices will notify the Class Members of the timing of this Frame Inspection and Replacement Program and will encourage Class Members to bring in their Subject Vehicles for an inspection. '

As far as Toyota goes as a company and QC...It's disappointing. When you look under Safety Campaigns on the Toyota Owners website, it's shocking to see how many different issues there are across the board, with all models.

Yes, that is the language in the Settlement Agreement, however the [beginning] "...in August 2017 and will be mailed over several months" statement I quoted above is from their own letter to dealers...

I agree; and I understand we live in different times wherein every "OMG it's not safe freak-out" gets everyone's panties in a wad, but a lot of this stuff (like leaking rear axles of the same design they've been making for over 30 years) really makes me wonder what the heck in going on at Toyota...[/QUOTE]

Thanks to you guys here, I'm getting my frame inspected on thursday. It's got 3 holes in it now, so they should be failing it. Living in northwest pa. I've undercoated every year and it obviously never helped. 73000 and it still ended up rotting out.

I got a notice from Heffler claims informing me of the class action suit but that was June of 2016

I believe I read somewhere that Toyota may send out reminders when there's 6 months left on the 12 months from final order ordeal.

    Research in progress...
Asked my dealership here in Colorado on the phone if they know anything about this issue and they said they don't. I'll wait for the next mass mailing (got the one earlier this year). Though they did call me for a free follow up alignment since they did the tsb rear leaf springs a year ago so I might go hang out with the mechanics and see what they think.

I never received anything about the settlement .... I googled rusted Tacoma frame back in April and found the site . The dealership confirmed the rusted frame in April and then sent me on my way... month latter and the control arm rotted off. Gave me a loner while I looked for a car .
Then told I had to get the truck out of there which I did and two months later told to bring it back !
Last week they called to say that they ordered the frame and weren't sure when it would come up in . This is my third Toyota and I'm disappointed with the whole rotted frame situation
    I bought a Honda CR-V this time

I'll do some digging. I know the company that supplies Toyota there frames now is in Mexico. I'll get back with more.

This is from Wiki on the subject of Dana's company timeline...
    2004

    • Dana celebrates its 100th anniversary.
    2006

    • Dana filed for bankruptcy.[4]
    2007

    • Dana canceled 150 million shares of stock during bankruptcy.[5]
    2009

    • Dana sells its structural products business which includes 10 manufacturing plants to Metalsa, approximately 2,800 workers were shifted to Metalsa.[6]
This is just an article I dug up during my search stating Toyota says it only takes 2 days and 2 technicians to complete a frame swap, but, was having issues getting frames delivered fast enough from Mexico.

The only part of this situation I don’t get is how could you be forced to pay for parts? If they break something while replacing the frame shouldn’t they be responsible for it? I’ll be calling tomorrow to schedule. I had it done on my 01 and they didn’t do a bad job, some loose exhaust bolts but other than that it worked well.

You'd probably be surprised by how much Mexico creates. Audi just built a plant over there and what they call a "small city" surrounding the plant for housing
'If any perforation in the frame is found to be 10 mm or larger, then the frame will be replaced, as well as all applicable parts and service items incidental to frame replacement.'
