    Fox squirrel. They are mainly black down here. Some are black head only and grey body, others are solid black.

    Ive seen one black squirrel in MD. I thought it was some kind of freak of nature...turns out they are common out there...

    me? I use a crosman pump bb, pump it up 12 times, I place a piece of wood at the base of the tree wif peanut butter on it, when they come in, I drop em or ifin I miss, I have a stout backdrop (ie the tree)? werks wunders, double bag em in plastic, chuck it in the freezer, out in the next trash pick-up. :notsure:

    probably close to the same gun I use, I have to pump it 10 or 12 times... it gets really old, might try your technique though, I've been trying to pick them off out of the tree and catch them in a baited trap.

    well, unfortunately the squirrels are now avoiding the trap baited with pecans... I'm guessing that the pecan tree is so full of pecans right now that they don't want to bother coming down out of the tree... On the plus side, I caught an opossum in the squirrel trap... so that's new.

    They eat roadkill, that's a plus. Plus some bugs and mice. But they also eat chickens, ducks, and pretty much anything that grows in the garden or on fruit trees. I get rid of everyone we catch or see.
