I have for sale an Access Original roll up for the 6 foot bed. The cover is in perfect condition and I need to get $250 for it. If you are in my local area this is one heck of a deal.

I pretty much made up my mind to get another Access Original for my 5 foot bed but a Truxedo for $200 less is tempting. I had Truxedos in the past but one difference that I notice is that the Access doesn't make that flapping noise like the Truxedo. Better quality/thicker material on the Access?

I don't know why, but there were 40 Tacoma's on the lot and all AT. I had to "special order" my TRD OF with a MT. Again that seems crazy to me but even if you get lucky and find a MT, it's probably not going to be anywhere close to the trim and color you want. If you really want a MT, it seems like you have to order them. Mine took over two months to deliver. Those were a long two months...

Same here but my time was closer to 4 months, definitely a long wait.

I told my dealer EXACTLY what I wanted on Thursday and it was on his lot on Friday. Most dealers here in New England seem to have MT Sport and Off Road models on the lot. There seems to be a very good selection right now.

Just about every Toyota that I've bought was a swap between my dealer and another dealer. This one that I'm picking up today came from 100 miles south down in Massachusetts.

How does your Truxport fit over the tailgate? I've read a number of customer review saying the the cover was a bit short and didn't make good contact with the top surface of the tailgate. Any photos of yours? Thanks.

I tried working with a local dealership - put down a deposit and all, but they unfortunately couldn't line up the right truck (or my second or third choice).

After doing my own inventory search and talking to a guy at a dealership one state over, I ended up getting my deposit back and driving a couple hundred miles to buy the EXACT truck I wanted in the first place.

From what I understand, M/T's just aren't that popular in certain regions, so your luck might depend heavily on the local market. Additionally, not all dealers play nice with each other regarding trades, which is understandable.

Glad you were able to get what you were looking for so easily, white was my third choice though haha!

I would be surprised if most dealers in the USA didn't swap vehicles with other dealers. I my case I did my own research for what I was looking for and the dealer has a more accurate way of telling what is available. I wanted an Off Road Dbl Cab, MT, white, with as few accessories as possible. There was one at a dealer just down the road but my dealer doesn't do business with them. That's why they went 100 miles away to get mine.
By the way, I picked up my new truck today. I am very happy with the choice of truck type and I'm very happy with the color. I took a drive to get a big discount on running boards and TRD grille and I put the running boards on already. I will install the TRD grille later. I also cut down my 6 foot bed mat and that came out good. Reused the stainless exhaust tip.
Right now my focus is on a tonneau cover. Still undecided.

I started this thread off by asking about Gen 2 running boards to fit my new Gen 3 Double Cab. Well, here they are. I got them 2 days ago from a dealer about 55 miles from home. They cost me just $280 because I picked them up. I lucked out having the dealer so close because shipping from this dealer is like $120. I also got a TRD Pro grille on the same trip. If you want to know where I got these parts send me a PM.

I'm going be posting another "my new truck" thread and I'll post a couple photos of the truck itself. I'm very happy with the new truck!
