So on other vehicles and motorcycles I've had, I've typically built my own suspension systems.
I've had the 3" front puck lift and 2" rear.
I've been looking at the BDS 6" lifts as well as the Total Chaos Offroad and Camburg set ups as well.

With all that said, I don't feel like cutting the frame of the truck for the 6" lift. I think BDS does this to avoid getting new axles, so cutting and lowering the front diff is a cheaper option. I'm thinking of fabricating my own upper and lower control arms to achieve a 3 to 3.5" gain in width per side, and a 6" lift in the front.

    Does anyone know:
    Camber:
    Castor:
    Kingpin offset:
    Kingpin Inclination Angle:
    Scrub:

How do the Tacoma's handle w/o a front sway bar?
Are there existing packages that achieve a similar set up?

From what I've seen their not providing more than a 3" lift with those... I could be wrong though, it's really the only reason I'm thinking of doing it myself.

    Ah...I forgot that part.
Sounds interesting though. I would love to see a build thread if you do end up fabricating.

I typically share all the info/logic behind what I do, sometimes if people are even nice enough, all the solidmodels go up on https://grabcad.com/alex.fiszel-1/projects

I'm thinking upper control arms first, I can get a pair of factory ones off of ebay for less then $100. Of course there's a lot of "thinking" going on. But I'd do a test set to replace the factory ones, similar to what's currently available. Then if I do the lower control arms, a set to work with the lowers.

There was someone on here who had a 6" BDS lift coupled with a long travel set up I believe... I'm pretty sure to get 6" of lift you're going to have to cut the frame to relocate LCA mounts and drop the differential

So I started remembering some of my old suspension engineering information.

I still don't like relocating the front differential, because I like the idea of more clearance. The 6" lifts drop the differential and lower control arms to try to keep the instant center if the control arms and axles in line as best as possible.

By keeping the lower control mounts where they are and raising everything else. The control arms will be lengthened and take up the height difference. The mechanics with the axles will be interesting, I'll have to see how good my solid models of the truck are.
