I'm in for a run in Peterborough/Minden area.

FYI I live just outside the Ganaraka forest. I believe that the offroad trails are generally used for ATVs. I have sent them an email to see if larger vehicles are permitted. I'll report back ASAP.

If so, I have a big property that you guys are welcome to camp on if needed.

5" shackle flip!?!? Jesus. Double check the shackle flips. Heard they can effect weight carrying ability. Will help with flex though.

oh I know haha. I know you pay extra per vehicle but I think its like $10 so nothing too expensive and I think you can get larger lots that allow multiple vehicles which we'd obviously need as most of us use your trucks as part of our camp.

Curious what you guys think. Posted this in 3rd gen section too.

Eugene and I couldn't find anything wrong after and I've looked at everything I can think of under the truck can't find anything broken
    https://youtu.be/m8CaqHtoViI

Just no clue what that thud was from at the end.

thread has a few pics as well
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/any-idea-what-this-thud-is.509163/

Posted about it in OF4 as well and one guy mentioned its likely just the trans engaging since I went from drive to park back to drive while hung up. Or could've been the Tcase engaging roughly. Given everything is fine shouldn't be anything more than that and next time just be easy on it.

Sounds like the front diff engaging. Sometimes the transfer case takes a while. Then when you put the gas on it can make a thud like that. pretty much what you said. You are a third gen though, some my second gen knowledge may not apply lol

I remember reading it on instagram regarding mademan issues with weight capacity. I checked out his build and I think it was for the leaf under axle setups and not the flip...I messed up. I saw you posted on one of the flip sections. Let me know. Would be interested in more travel and extra grease points. Plus the stock shackle is weak sauce.

Yeah it happens on a lot of vehicles too.

My uncle was plowing in his 3500 dodge and engaged the 4wd while moving and spinning the tires and same bang/thud happened. He was told with the buttons/switches you can do it on the fly compared to the 4wd on the floor.

From your other post in the 3rd gen section, you said the 4wd indicator was flashing at the time. I could be wrong but flashing means transitioning no?...if I'm not wrong, and it's transition to 4by and you are giving power, it would certainly have the same symptom when it finally locks in.

As for damage incurred...i doubt it. I've had it happen periodically in every 4wd except my 85 T4R...manually locking hubs and shift lever 4wd select does not do that. It's like a Manny tranny...your either in gear or out.

Next fluid change of front dif and/or t-case just eyeball for metal shavings

No it was the traction control flashing indicating mts was working because back wheels were spinning

I've been looking at the archive garage kit. The kit comes with a 4" shackle yielding 1"-1.5" lift. Every inch you add in shackle length, you gain 1/2" in lift. So a 5" shackle with the expos will give me 4.5-5" lift. I'm hoping with the amount of crap I carry the leafs will settle the 1/2" that allpro warns about, leaving me at 4-4.5 lift. There are whispers that a shackle flip will affect the load capacity of the leafs but nothing substantiated from what I've read. Rumors seem to spread from the idea that you can't tow heavy loads with a flip but these ideas again carry no weight
    :rimshot:
All people that I've seen respond with actual experience (towing and heavy loads) with shackle flips have had no complaints. Now that being said, there is a downside to the up travel. Apperantly there is some give and play with that much droop-ability. You can't stuff the wheel as much, but you gain... droop ability.

This is with aal with overload + 2" block. I'll post pics after I get this new shit sorted out.

Kewl...so with the weight capacity reduction, were you able to haul your coffee kart in the box?

You know, that koffee kart you built (with 3 of my kastor wheels)...that kart you were gonna post a pic of...

    Ya, that one

Indeed, it is. Unless ya made two...in which case, I'll buy the second one.

Very nice work! Very nice indeed.
