@JerryTaco What is it about the Deavers that you like over the Dakars?

The deavers were great, very progressive, quite and held weight well. In my experience with the Dakars, they can be very stiff and very noisy, but that's only what I have seen with friends who run those springs. I did swap over the Icon RXT springs and am VERY impressed with those so far. I went on a camping trip last weekend with them and with the truck fully loaded down, they sagged less than an inch and still rode very well on and offroad

I have always wondered what that sound was until you mentioned it. Totally understand that reasoning, although I dont see it as a problem that they stay in contact with the bump stop perches, not different than if you had an airbag system inflated all the time. I will say I loaded 1/4 cord of firewood, and they support the truck and weight well, but seemed like it took a couple days for them to fully recover. That may have just been my eyes playing tricks though. Hope all is well!

still debating and weighing to pros and cons of each pack lol the price points are all fairly close but i will also be without my truck now for an undetermined amount of time since i'll be dropping the truck off for the damn recalls that popped up while i was gone... haven't even gotten the snorkel on yet lol

Not to throw a wrench in the works but this new Icon pack is super impressive. Definitely blown away my expectations so much so that I don't even miss the Deavers at all

I believe something like 5 or 600 pounds over stock in the 3rd configuration

Did you get the full 3" lift out of it? I have the U402 plus an extra leaf sitting in my garage.

Exactly 3". I've only driven it 10 miles though. Will see if settles. I carry a topper, front runner rack, 33" spare tire, awning, shovel/high Lft. That's the leaf pack I was recommended by Marie at headstrong. Did exactly as hoped for. I think if I had a high clearance/swing out rear bumper I'd get the extra leaf for a full 3".

I just realized this is 3rd gen thread. But I don't think they are too different. Hopefully someone else can chime in for ya.

Soooo... after talking with All Pro their expo 2 pack the one for 500+ lbs is now on back order and they are not sure when they'll be back in stock if at all... they're working on design updates i believe and honestly with OME Dakars changing and now All Pro possibly changing it up i'm going to go with DEAVERS U402 expedition 2 leaf pack... with the camper shell, CBI T3 dual swing arm rear bumper, jerry cans, full size spare and a roof rack in the future w/ accessories the 500-700 lbs constant load rating only made sense! thank you to everyone on here for their input and suggestions... as we all know threads often get flooded with trolls or haters and i must say to my surprise there was nothing but good info and suggestions in here... i'll be sure to let you guys know when i get them in and some initial reviews and after 500-1000 miles review so people in the future will have all the great info from this thread to use in helping them make their decision. $1k on leaf springs is quite a bit but from what i've heard these are the Ferrari's of leaf springs lol

I too have been in the same dilemma, choosing between Dakar, Expo or Deaver. Thanks for the update on the Expos.
Please let us know your initial thoughts after you get your packs installed.

I'd look at the All-Pro Expos also if I were you. The Deavers seem great, but I've never heard any complaints about the All-Pro Expos, other than that they do sag after a while with weight and excessive use. I've heard the same for Dakars though, and experienced it with basically every leaf-sprung vehicle I've ever owned. It's just the nature of how these types of springs work.

but with all pro not having a release date for their expo 2 pack the 500+ lbs leaf pack i dont want to wait around for something that could be next month or next year... as far as dakars go as i posted in the first their new setup while having silencers to help with the squeaking the attention to detail on the paint work or lack there of has brought a lot of concern especially for a product that costs $600+ if they cant give something a decent paint job what else are they possibly skipping steps or attention to...? nothing against ARB by any means, hell i just put their snorkel on my truck but come on it couldnt possibly take that much longer or cost that much extra to give a decent powder coating or hell i think a rattle can with 30 minutes for a pair would have looked better IMO

The Deavers are certainly nice, I know from experience. But I am standing strong that the Icon RXT springs take the win here.

There's no difference in rear suspension on a 3rd gen vs 2nd.

    I'm actually running a set of take-off 2016 leaves w/ a 3-leaf AAL on my 2013. It's all the same lol

How do you have your RXT springs set up and how much weight are you running?

Right now I have them in the 2nd or medium configuration. The weight varies as I don't always have the tent on my truck, however fully loaded I run about 700 pounds over stock
