New to Miami...kind of

Hey everyone, I just got out of the Marines a few months ago and now I live in Miami. Tomorrow I finally get the last parts to my OME lift, so after this week I will be looking for places to go wheeling. So far just on google I've found a place called "the hump", and J.W. Corbet WMA. Isn't there a place in ocala? Kind of far for me.

 

Yeah Ocala National Forest. That place is huge. I wonder if there's any good legal wheeling in the Everglades closer to you. If you're in the area check out Virginia key. If they try to charge you to get in tell them you are going to Jimbo's back there and they'll let you pass. There is a little trail through the grass by that plant that you can drive on.

 

Thanks, I'll look into the everglades but as far as I know that place is on lock down.

 

It's probably all protected.

 

I wouldn't go through the Everglades anyways unless you give me an armored off road vehicle with a turret.

Squallies. Not afraid, just need the right equipment.

 

Miami isn't the best place for off-roading. Most of the good places will be a little bit of a hike. I have a friend that is always talking about this place called River Ranch.

 

I'll have to look it up. I dont mind doing some traveling if I'm going to make a day out of it or even a weekend.

hey mgrande...i live in fort lauderdale and i tried getting a tacoma group to get together while ago and go trail riding or something but didnt have much luck. i haven't really found anywhere to go wheeling here either. there is a old construction area off commericial and sawgrass expy that mudded up a bit. send me a message and let me know if you've found anywhere to go or if your up for a tacoma meet up
