Do the colder plugs make a difference?

 

they way I look at it, as cheap as they are, might as well put new colder plugs gapped correctly in if you have take out the old ones anyway. plus might as well get a compression test done while you got her open if you haven't done one in a while

you can start at .034 and work your way down if needed. I gapped my iridiums at 0.028 and they've been worked great. Before that I had coppers at .032 and that worked well too. I went to a little less on the second set with plans of going to 10psi. I just haven't had the time to tune it for that yet.

 

I think oe spec is .031" on the 3rz. Im confused

 

Hmm. I thought stock was .04something. Perhaps I'm wrong on that. Do you happen to know what your current plugs are gapped to now?

 

I never knew slight differences in gap would make such a difference in performance

This extra stuff is like 1500 in parts but requires a bit of machining and since I don't plan on swapping my trans in the next year I will hold off for now 300hp will do me wonders on a mild tune with the setup he built me.
