Ah, I haven't really been following this thread, just figured I'd share the configuration I found works. Never heard of Morphie, but I'm not very familiar with wireless charging.

One thing I did notice is that Samsung is advertising their chargers are Qi chargers (on Amazon at least). I saw a post somewhere about wanting to change out the Qi charger in the Taco with a Samsung one. So not sure if that's going to make a difference. The again... I also hadn't heard of Qi before, and I'm not even sure if it's just a brand, or some sort of name of an architecture that is being used. Guess I could Google it, but got other projects on my plate right now.

Either way, I hope he gets it figured out.

Edit: oh, lol, it was this post.

This little guy charges extremely quickly! Love it and it looks badass at night, haha.

Factory stuff so far. Mud flaps, tow package, weather mats, bed mat.
What's nice is the Taco QI has a light that confirms contact allowing a charge so that's the best I can answer that the Mophie case has contact. It's possible when stopped to look up in that nook and see the phone's charging indicator too.
Yes it did effectively charge for me with all those functions going on that 4.5-4.0 hr drive as I did it both ways and it charged both the phone and the backup battery to 100% from there.
My guess based on observations is that the Taco QI base charges slower, particularly for short hauls, than using the USB connection. The QI base from Mophie l have hooked up at home on a higher output USB connection is probably twice as fast.
Still like the convenience of the OEM Taco QI base - no need for wires, just drop your phone on it and make sure the charging light comes on. Just wish it was more powerful to charge faster.

I wasn't referring to the case on the phone, I Was referring to the amperage to the stock wireless charging pad in the Tacoma. I have had a GS7 and GS8 and neither will fast charge on the stock pad in the 3rd gen tacoma. To modify it to fast charge, it will need additional coils (or a new coil set) as well as new wiring running to the charger. The stock power isn't high enough to allow the phone to fast charge as it would on a samsung wireless fast charging pad.

    Update on my end:

Since we got to talking about it, I went ahead and purchased this cheap little wireless charger so I can see if I like the wireless charging.

Surprisingly it rapid charges as well. Not sure why others are having difficulty getting rapid charge to work.

The people having the problem are using the stock wireless charging pad built into the Tacoma center (lower front) console. You are supposed to be able to just place your phone on the rubber mat there and press the stock QI button built into the Tacoma and it charges. The amperage is too low to fast charge many new devices however.

Hope this clears up where the issues are arising

This topic comes up now and then. Still waiting for someone to come out with something better. It charges my S6 just fine even with a Otterbox but it does overheat. My wife's Note5 doesn't charge at all even though the acknowledgement light comes on. Thinking of getting the Note8 but I have become spoiled with the wireless charger and it would be shame to lose that ability for a better phone.

It remains to be seen if I am ACTUALLY getting rapid charging. While it says "rapid charging" on the screen, I have not timed it simply because my phone hasn't gotten that low yet. I will have a better idea of the speed I am actually getting from my new charger tonight.

I am still using the stock Qi charger in my Taco. The one I posted above is one I bought to have in my room. Also, I totally tagged the wrong person in my original post,
    @TheReal_amocaT . Sorry bout that.

    Anyway, good luck everyone!
