Spare is a 265/70r16 (for now)

285/75r16 will eventually go in bed.

I actually don't want the spare underneeth.

    Prefer it in the bed.

I have one of those "mental blueprints" for a skid bar set up to protect the lower edge of the rear quarter panels once tje spare goes away. Something light but rigid enough so the tail won't smack the ground when it drops off a ledge..

Alright guys serious talk time. I've semi-joked about this before but this is the real deal.

I was just put in charge of picking our summer vacation destination next year.

Suppose I were to run an expedition out west to the national parks in Utah and some obligatory Moab-ing.

This would be a 2-3 week trip. Would any of you want in on that? Obviously not looking for commitments at this point, more of if given the chance to take 16 or so days to drive out west, camp, wheel, and explore some beautiful parks, would you willingly give up your PTO and whatever other obligations to do so?

My buddy and I have been discussing sitting down and making a routed trip to a few places. Haven't decided if we wanted to drive or fly a couple destinations since some of them are a very far distance to drive. I have a coworker that just came back from Glacier Park in Montana and the pictures he had taken were amazing. Bad part, it's 26hours worth of driving from here. (Little further than Moab).

I'm in the middle of getting ready to start applying for travel MRI position's where I will be traveling around the country every few months. Depending on where that is in place next year. I'd definitely be down for a 2 week trip out West. Been out there a few times and absolutely love it.

Of course a lot of things change within a years time but It's something I'd highly consider doing.

Driving ~18 hours to RMNP was rough but around Denver when you first get that view of the front range, it's entirely worth it. It has taken gratuitous self control (and a move-resistant wife) to keep me from transferring out there. I actually got a job offer to transfer out to the Springs and work for the US MDA. Truly the hardest 'no' I've had to say to this point in my life.

I'd be interested. Did 3 weeks out west 3 years ago, here to Seattle to Southern California and back through Colorado to visit National Parks. I didn't do as much in Utah as I wanted, and would enjoy going back. I normally take off and do a 2-3 week trip every year, but would need to fix the dates 6 months beforehand to schedule everything with work.

Sounds like me and the Maggie Valley area of North Carolina...

My first wife and I spent a lot of time in Montana and Colorado. It was the best part of that relationship

I've driven 13-14 just to visit Miami, FL which is terrible so 17-18ish wouldn't be terrible. However 26 hours to and back would be tough to accomplish in 2 weeks and see everything I would want to see. It'd definitely have to be 3 weeks off so I wouldn't feel rushed to spend 4-5 out of 14 days driving to get close to the destination's I was looking forward to.

It was actually my vacation plan for this year to take 3 weeks and do the Big 5 in Utah, but I had just enough PTO for that then got sick a month out. So we turned it into a 2 week Colorado trip instead. Got to visit Left Hand so you won't hear any complaints here. Just more camping and less wheeling.

The plan would be allocate 6 days for driving because I hate driving more than 10 hours a day, then have 8-12 days to bounce around between the national parks out there and do stuff. But honestly if that turned into 8-12 days of Moab, Canyonlands, and a couple day detour to Zion to hike the narrows, I wouldn't complain.

Sure. I wouldn't mind backpacking, fly fishing, etc. if I'm visiting those places as well. Don't need an entire trip for just wheeling. Just haven't made my mind up yet if I wanted to go the Glacier Park/ Yellowstone way or what. If I remember correctly/ they're a fairly good distance apart so I don't know if it would be logical to do both those and back down to Moab/Grand Canyon on the same trip. However, that would definitely be a bucket list trip for me. Don't rule me out however because its definitely something I'd consider highly.
