Dealership applied caulking to mine at 1st service (or cocking as their illiterate service writer stated) saw no cocking marks or any other evidence that they got freaky with my truck
The new caulking I saw applied took care of the problem

I remember seeing your post about your hood and figured they would screw it up somehow, 99.999% sure they used the wrong compound
But I got lucky and do not see any issues 7000+ miles later

Update: Dealership called me last week and told me they did not want to give me my truck back yet because they received the truck back from the body shop and the hood was still messed up and they knew I would be upset. I told them this was crazy and I just wanted my truck fixed properly. They said they were sorry and that they did not have great confidence in getting the new hood back to looking like factory. My service advisor said he would like to see me get into a new truck and was going to talk with the GM and see what could be done. So I now have a new 2017 Black 4X4 DCSB TRD Sport. I believe they did give me a great deal, I did pay a little more this time but I got all the upgrades that my SR5 didn't have. I had them put my grille, wheels, tires, step bars, tonneau cover, and mud flaps on the new truck. The funny part was the day I picked it up the salesman acted nervous and sat down and told me as they were detailing the new truck they noticed a scratch on the tailgate and could not be buffed out...so he told them to put my SR5 tailgate on my new truck. LOL I told him that was fine with me because I had the overlay black out's on the v6 and 4X4 and also the TACOMA inserts so it saved me some money. So now I have part of my original truck still with me.

The scooped hood took a little bit of getting used to, but after one week and 1K miles I'm starting to like it.

Ended up paying 4K more, also got lifetime oil changes and lifetime powertrain warranty. My 3 month old SR5 had 11K miles on it. I felt I got a decent deal.

That's a dealership worth doing business with. Not many would have done what yours did. Congrats and pics of the new ride are always encouraged.

Is it easier to see how close you come to other cars when parking without the scoop? I've never been a fan of the scoop, but I have the sport model.
