Thought I would share the recent trip my family and a couple of friends did. Just got back Saturday afternoon. We were camped in Joshua Tree for 3 nights. We were fortunate to have great weather. Only one night got a bit breezy but perfect otherwise. These pics are of upper Berdoo Canyon trail. I didn't go all the way down because my buddy didn't want to risk breaking his Ranger PU? But drove through a couple of technical sections then came back up. I was dying to test out the new tires I got. Goodyear Wrangler Authorities.

Sunrise over our camp Saturday. We brought our Trailmanor and our friends now have our beloved Jayco pop up. So we took over these two sites in Jumbo Rocks CG. Been wanting to take the family there since I haven't been there in many years.

Nice pics. I was there last year and Barker Dam was practically dry.

Thanks, with all the rain we had this year it's got more water than it's had in many years according to the rangers. Been like 20 years since I saw it last and there was water then too. I'm lucky I guess but I suspected there would be. It's about as good as it gets up there now.

^What he said but if you have a lift you may be able to go up that way too. It would take some good coordination too. Long bed doesn't help either. Definitely a few places your not going to get through on your own. Thanks

Nice looking truck and thanks for sharing the pictures.
I'm happy to see that my daughter's not the only kid to climb rocks wearing Uggs. She also ran the mile at school in hers :(

Thanks, yea I told her to put some tennies or running shoes on but apparently she had already tested them out and frankly I was proven wrong. She was like a mtn goat in those things. The soft sole did wonders.

I'm looking to go camping out there sometime, looks like a neat little place to go explore. I have a friend with a stock 4x4 taco off road and another with an F150 4x4...not sure if they're make it through, but still would be good exploring im sure...

You really need to watch your crossover exhaust if you don't have transfer skid

Hey @HB Taco. I was hoping you can help me out. I was curious if there's anywhere to park along Berdoo Canyon Rd to pop up my RTT and camp for the night?

Friends are staying in Palm Springs, getting married in JT and the closest part of the park to PS is Berdoo Canyon Rd. Don't really want to stay at an established campsite...

On the PS side of Berdoo Canyon Rd i really would not recommend camping unless you go far into the canyons. The beginning side of this trail (PS side) is a very popular spot for shooting and known for not having the best outstanding citizens going there. Its a different story on the other side of this trail (JT side) there's plenty of spots to camp and nice up there.

when are you planning on camping?

You guys are the shit! Much appreciated.

José, I'll be up there Friday night, probably late. Then I'm going to see as much of the park as I can by 2pm Sat. Then I'll head back to PS, then back probably late Saturday night then headed back to AZ Sunday morning.
I'll be back probably in October when it cools off for a week to see the whole park. I'll be monitoring on 146.52s. KK6OKX. Thanks you guys I owe you some beers.

Nice, getting the most of the trip! Was going to offer to wheel with you and a spot to camp in my yard, I live 10min west of Berdoo off Dillon rd. But I'll be out of town this weekend.
Well safe travels man and bring lots of water, not sure what part of AZ your from but we're still in the triple digits out here.

Thanks mang! Thanks for the forewarning. I'll be back round these parts. I'm in Prescott @ 5500'. But from Ukiah, CA. Ukiah's 30% humidity and over 95 degrees ALL damn summer. Supposed to cool off in JT starting Friday.

Just go up into JT till it starts to widen and flatten out. You'll find lots of good spots to camp and it will be a tad cooler (maybe less heat is a better way to put it) up there. Have fun.

Thank you. HB Taco, are the photos of the dry falls more towards Geology Tour Rd or nearer the gated trailhead for Berdoo Thermal Canyon Corridor?

Sorry for cluttering up your thread.

Great pics btw. I've read an inscription in a journal at Bragg's in DVNP... Are you that HB Taco? I believe there's a 1st gen with a similar name on here. Cheers.
