You mentioned earlier faster shifting with less upshift delays. Was that accomplished with 1.02 or will that be a future feature?

Yes the temperatures are an issue. I do not expect much difference over 1.01B on the low end no, as valve timing in that range made minimal difference. I think I mentioned back that Toyota looks to have spent a lot of timing with intake valve timing in the low end RPM and then just "created" the top end so something was there. So I focused on exploring the top end.

Unfortunately no. I adjusted the tables in several ways but it only manipulated when the truck shifted, not how fast. At this point I think it will not be possible without manipulating pressures inside the TCM File.

Long time lurker (I've read every post) and I have been very impressed with your results but I am curious to see how the transmission responds with time. With not being able to deactivate the learning we won't know how all this will end up.

Appreciate the clarity and openness. Sounds like a mechanical fix with the valve body of the transmission may be our only option with shift speeds.

It's controllable in the TCM. I just need some time.

Yes. I think a lot of people will be really happy with 1.02 AT and the MT needs it's turn.

Alrighty everyone that's all I can answer for now. Got a lot left to do tonight and a ton of orders to start working through.

I wish I was closer, would just give you my Tacoma and you could keep it for a week to get it all ironed out. Huge props to you for all your hard work!

Talk about some cool stuff. I can't wait to play with 87 vs 91. Laptop will be living in the truck soon!
I'll still keep running 93 though

@OVTune, you said this was the same truck as before. The first time they only wanted to go moderate on the engine and did the same this time to be consistent and check gains. Any chance you did at least 1 all out run??

He did say a long time ago that the weird shifting is due to the ECU not the TCU

Unfortunately wasn't possible in today's conditions.

    For people noting
Our 91 map under normal temp conditions will run peak full throttle timing as high as 26* advance
93 octane I expect will support peak 30*+

Today's conditions peak full throttle advance of 19-20*.

6* on compression like this is a lot more than it sounds.

Hey guys, been following for couple months now. I ordered the tune, did I miss where to request the 93 oct? Or does that come later via email.

    Thanks,

It's going to be a long month waiting for delivery.

Month long? What make you say that? OVT should have stock on hand ready for delivery.

    What order # are you?

I am order 2021. I am stationed in Germany so I am sure it's going to take longer than stateside delivery.

Is there any way we can get a graph showing the new shift points?
