As mentioned, all a laser detector is good for is to tell you that you've been tagged. In very rare instances it might catch some scatter, but you can count on that about as much as you can count on the LEO's car stalling just as he's pulling out to come get your autograph. We're talking beam widths of 18 inches at 1000 feet. Depending on where he's aimed he might nail you without the beam ever washing over your laser detector. This morning: Tiger shot dead after attacking dog in metro Atlanta neighborhood

Henry County police and state authorities are working to determine how a tiger ended up in a residential area early Wednesday morning.

The tiger was shot dead after it attacked a dog and was spotted roaming a Henry County neighborhood

“No idea where she (the tiger) belonged,” said Gerri Yoder, Henry County’s animal control director. “There are a lot of theories, but who knows?”

The state’s Department of Natural Resources is also investigating, but hasn’t yet determined the tiger’s owner, officials said.

The tiger could have been “a victim of the exotic pet trade” and could have been “born and bred for the purpose of resale,” Yoder said. Tigers “are not illegal to own with the proper permitting,” she said.

Around 6 a.m., authorities received at least two 911 calls from people who spotted the big cat near the ramp from I-75 North to Jodeco Road and near a home in the area, Henry police Capt. Joey Smith said.

That just says they're permitted to seize anything needed to perform their mission. This does not state "seize all gun owners firearms."

I agree it's a weird statement to specifically include explosives and firearms in the declaration - that should state "seize any materiel necessary for the performance of this emergency mission" and leave it at that.

 

Which one? Our whole damn state is burning up. We've been gagging on smoke for weeks. Worst I've ever seen.
