Can anyone recommend any comfortable running shoes? I know this might be a general question, and I could simply buy a pair of nikes, but I'm looking to see if there's anything possibly better. I just passed my entrance exam for local PD, and wanted to step up my cardio. Thanks

 

Don't buy a pair of nikes

I've had a few pair of Nike Free (Runners) and they were ok but they wore down quick and would lose all traction and I managed to put a whole through the toe on each pair too.

Do a quick search for a shoe store in your area and see if there is one that is also a podiatrist. It may sound bizarre but it's actually common. There is one right by my house. She has her office and the waiting room is a shoe/running retail shop. They can analyze your "gate" (make you walk around and watch your habits) and then recommend the best shoe for you.

I'm currently in a New Balance 880v7 and they are awesome. Real cushiony, which is something I've never looked for in a shoe before. I've always gone with the minimalist like the Nike free or a new balance minimus (which I have 3 pair of that have become my deadlift shoes because of the 0 drop).

Pretty much what he said. I have sauconys that I used during the academy. Brooks is also another good brand. All depends what fits your feet.

Look up A Snails Pace. There might be one by you but they do custom fittings and stuff like that.

Nike Accelerate, they're not too bad on price, wear well, and are supportive.

 

I like Brooks too. I actually went to get a pair of Brooks when the lady recommended the New Balance. I have an older pair of Brooks that I use for Spartan Races bc I don't care if they get muddy and tore up.

 

Are they air max? I like the way air Max's look.


Let's be serious though I don't do cardio so as long as they're comfy for my feet when I'm walking over to curl in the squat rack and I'm happy.
