Haha I know you had it there, I was actually going to tag you in my post because I remember us talking about it but wasn't sure if that was the same brand as the one you had. I'm going to deal with solar heating on jerry can for my upcoming trip and see how well it works and then decide if I want to invest in something with hot water or not lol

May be a better question for the rtt thread... but this should work. Anyone have a tepui autana and find the cover is freakin tight? I have a blanket, sleeping bag and an extra 1.5" piece of foam in there but ny friends with different but similar tents say their cover fits just fine with that kind of sleeping stuff in there.... even with it empty, im having to push down on it to get it even from hinge side to open side in thickness..... maybe let it sit in the sun for a few days to help stretch?

 

I got a quote through a PM from them in May that they do offer a dual can holder. Probably just have to call or email or PM them to get one ordered up.

 

Gotcha. I am building my own because all the prices I have seen for them have been way more than I wanted to spend. Even the jankiest solutions are over $100 or can't lock.

This one is decent for the price and I feel making it lockable would just require welding a hinge and lock. But if I need to do that at all then I might as well make my own.

If cost wasn't part of my decision no way would I have bought my soft shell RTT. I'd be sporting James Baroud grand raid xxl expo on a trailer if i had a money tree

 

nailed it. hated my cover zipper as soon as it got dusty. add the annoyance of putting a wet tent away occassionaly.

if mine never sells its going to become a trailer tent at some point

 

my truck doesnt fit in the garage. 7ft problems.

ice cold morning dew is the worst. also no more rainfly flapping around.

 

Went up to Big Bear this last weekend with my family and got to try out my new 6x10 cargo trailer that I converted into an Offroad camper on 35's










And a little footage of the trailer going up the easy trail where we found a good spot to camp

If I could fit a hard shell on my truck and into my garage I would put one on regardless of price. Hopefully in the future when I am in the market for one competition will have increased a bit and drop prices.
