I lived out in Gold River in the 90s. Our HOA dues were something like $75. That paid for gym/racket club access, front yard maintenance, fence painting every few years, "security" patrols, and probably a few more things I didn't know about.

One thing I didn't like was the CC&R Gestapo running around. I envisioned curmudgeonly old ladies walking/driving around with little notes pads recording all the potential violations they could report.

I got an "abandoned vehicle" ticket on my '68 Olds Toronado once even though I drove it just about every day. It was straight, but mostly faded paint and primer on the outside. If it was in original condition, I probably wouldn't have gotten a ticket. Loved driving that car. Front-wheel drive, flat floor board; perfect spot for a Coors party ball. Good times.

im LOL im not worked up at all. although I would be if they told me I couldn't fly a flag or park a trailer in my driveway. But I don't have to worry about any of that. but I am anti HOA also anti Rancho Cordova. there is a reason housing is cheap there.

I hate to even ask, but any toilet mechanics in here? :D

The left side of the lid has had this gap in the hinge since I installed it. Coincidentally (or not), it's also this left side hinge that keeps popping off of the toilet bolts.

Forgive the technical terms, but seems to mount just with friction on these studs and the top covers don't seem to have anything to do with that. But, the left side cover always pops off also, so fuck.

New lid? New bolts? Burn the house to the ground and collect insurance, buy a restored 50s Cadillac and drive to Baja and sell fruit and illegal liquor?

Advise me, babe. Hard and fast.

That has the same clamp mounting style.

Not sure if repeating my problem. Although a separate kiddie seat is a good idea. Right now she just holds onto my hands while she takes a growler in the big potty.

Or she shits outside on the cement. :bananadead:

I pay $270 a month for common area landscaping and exterior coverage.

I get fuck all for my money unless I'm getting a new roof or new siding, so..

New roof is a thing, but being a short term owner it's really just burning money. I'll never see the siding replaced, and if they do it, it'll be the same cheap vinyl shit from the lowest bidder like it was 20+ years ago.

Pay my garbage, water, electrical, etc. out of my own pocket. HOA just keeps the sprinklers fixed. I still have to trim my own tree (common area) at the front of my house, and the rosemary bush beneath it, otherwise it grows into my sidewalk.

Yesterday they came through and were blowing all the debris into the common areas instead of into the street for removal. I just went out with my hose and sprayed it all away from me instead. They just blow it off the sidewalk and into the green space, lazy fucks.

When the wife and I were looking for houses to buy about 3 years ago. All the new new home communities did not have HOA. Might be a thing of the past. :notsure:
