I didn't touch the 4runner on Monday..had a bunch of other crap to do :(. Last night I wanted to work on getting the motor running better, but the battery was dead & my shop was a disaster area. I broke out my battery charger & set it up to charge the battery & then spent a good hour cleaning up the shop. Battery was still pretty weak so I left it on charge & started trying to find out what was going on with the brakes. I got the front brakes working pretty good but nothing going on the rears. I was only getting a little bit of fluid out of the pass. side rear & I could not get any fluid out of the drivers side rear when bleeding. I pulled both bleeder screws out, the drivers side was clogged, pass side was fine. Cleaned, reinstalled & got a little fluid out of the drivers side then back to getting nothing. I pulled the brake line off of the wheel cylinders & had my wife push the brake pedal....no fluid or pressure at the brake line. Started working my way down the line & found that I have a good flow of brake fluid going into the proportioning valve, but none coming out. I have been searching for a fix this morning. Looks like they are not serviceable & a new one is just shy of $200 . Most people who have this problem swap it out for a universal, adjustable one from Summit or Jegs, they run about $60.

Glad you found the brake problem. That would be a deal breaker for taking it to Shiloh.

It def. would have been a deal breaker. Also glad I didn't wait since I am going to have to order the part. I'm gonna try to get a new proportioing valve on it's way today.

I have decided to get the Wilwood. I would get the Jegs brand but it only has a single inlet & I need a dual. I gotta run home at lunch & confirm everything & then I will order it when I get back to work.

After a lengthy phone conversation with the sales guy at Jegs and another with a customer service rep with Wilwood brakes, I ordered this one from Jegs. It is a single in-let single out-let. Gonna be a little bit of a pain in the ass to install because I am actually going to be eliminating one of my factory brake lines. The way the are run factory is a little odd. Not too big of a deal though.

Not too bad at all. They advertise free shipping on ground but then at the last minute while I was checking out they slapped me with a $10 processing fee . Now that is what I call free shipping!

Cool man, glad he likes it.

I need to find a double flare tool to re-work my brake lines when the proportioning valve gets here. I also need to find some 1/8" npt male flare fittings....anybody know where I can find this stuff?

Did some trouble shooting on the motor tonight....What do you know I found a problem. I checked it over for major vacuum leaks but found none. Hooked up a tach to check idle speed but it was pretty close. Still running very rough. Even though I know that the cap, rotor, plugs & wires are all new, I started pulling plug wires one at a time with it idling & found that #3 doesn't seem to be hitting. If I hold the plug wire even close to the plug I can see a good spark, so it must be the fuel injector not firing. I did the ohm test per my Chilton manual & the injector is right at the top of the range, but in spec. I suppose that means I have a wiring problem for that injector. Not sure what I am going to do to fix it, but I may have to pull the upper intake...AGAIN. I will do some searching & see what I can figure out.

Exactly 7 more days to get this thing ready for Shilo. I guess that it is good to find major problems b/c I expect it to run MUCH better once I find the solution!

I have been searching around & found out that some people are having problems with the wiring harness to the injectors, I guess I am going to give that a shot. Might be able to get away with out pulling the upper intake back off. It not that it is hard to remove, it is just all of the fucking vacuume lines!!
