    safety crash test.

The Toyota Tacoma double cab scored the highest in that test -- and ranked highest overall, earning good ratings on structure, restraints and injury measures. The "crew cab" versions of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon also got high marks.

The Nissan Frontier small pickup truck had the lowest overall rating in the new safety evaluation.

"IIHS says small pickups are getting safer, but that large pickups will still offer better protection in a crash. "

And an M60 Patton or M1 Abrams offer yet better protection--what is their point?

In general, but not always true depending on the age of the vehicle. I rather be hit in a new corolla than in an 70's volvo station wagon.

After seeing some pics on accidents members have posted here, I don't need them to tell me they're safe

Obviously the Nissan ranked the lowest. The truck was designed almost a decade and a half ago

Sorry about the confusion, there is another member with your name it appears

Here is the original post by that member:

I think about the article from this post whenever I see a photo of a Tacoma that has been in an accident. Seems like any slight compromise if the cabin structure and the truck is totalled. Also these trucks do appear to be well constructed it terms of occupant safety.

Just some good information that I have not seen since the posted article, I like to post it up from time to time in threads about Tacoma safety, and give credit to the member who posted it- thanks @Username:
