good to know. From flexing pics that I have seen, I don't think the uptrvel numbers are that greatly affected, however droop is a lot better cause wheels on the ground make traction. Lifting a wheel kinda kills it, especially without lockers lol.

Ill keep an eye out, as my rear suspension may need an overhaul down the road. May go a similar route you are going, but with chevy 63's or something. May wait at the same time and see if I start to blow the stock rear end up. Then Ill be going a whole different direction....all thoughts at the moment.

Thanks. It's at least 80 years old and original to an industrial electrical company yard.

There's a thread somewhere on here where a guy did a flip on his third Gen and when he hit a dip off road made him get slight air and because of the lack of up travel ended up breaking his frame.

I'd say do so with caution. Droop is nice but lost up travel can cause damage as well

A flip with Dakars and icons all round. He also smashed the shit out of his front icons. Completely over loaded and he says he caught air and smashed into a rut he didn't clear with the rear. Traveling at "35mph". I'm no physics major, but to have a 4200lbs stock vehicle, add another probably over 2500lbs and jump it you would have to have some pretty good speed. The key word here is jump. He would have smashed the shit out of everything regardless of his rear setup. I won't argue with the possibility of slightly less damage, but the damage was caused by speed and gravity, not a shackle flip. Would any one here drive that fast, that loaded, offroad? With the amount of weight he was carrying he was probably very close to his bump stops in the rear in the first place.

@NorilskSever sent some of the pics I have of our trucks to Toyota Canada. They had a post recently asking to share your tacoma pics haha. Now they want to use our pics. So our trucks might be featured.

Im planning a Peterborough run that is kinda a scenic run that some of the guys who are new may want to come with. Hopefully get up to arbdeg or minded or some other trail soon before they close.
I would love to see that too.....Trying to really think of the direction I am going because I want to ensure the parts I go with are somewhat easily replaceable and not too bad for ordering if I break across country or something. One of the reasons I haven't gone with the big brake upgrade or additional suspension stuff. However with the 63's I could go with tundra extra length billies or something. Could also do the ford f250 shock tower as a extended mount. Get all that stuff at napa worst case or a junkyard...more research is in order.....

Princess auto has some slightly larger than suit case sized, heavy duty waterproof storage boxes on sale for $42 from $84. I'm in the process of making some rack storage boxes...
