Kinda like ace hardware. The one in Centreville closed down and i lost my metric/grade 8/stainless hardware selection :(

Yeah. There is an Ace/TrueValue down here in Colonial Beach. There was one in NM too. I spent lots of money there both for work and personal projects.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Highlander,
Looking for a new vehicle for my wife and can't seem to convince her to just get the 4runner.

Ok, I'm still holding out that when we finally test drive she realizes that the 4r is bigger and more capable of crossing through the creek and the better choice but for now I'll just keep leaning her to the Highlander

I drove a Highlander for a few days a couple of years ago when the dealership was replacing the steering rack in my truck. It was a nice vehicle, but I wouldn't get rid of my truck for one. I think the 4Runner would be more utilitarian. I've got friends back in NM with 4Runners. They haul around locks of stuff in the back of them. I don't think you'd be able to fit the amount of crap they carry around in a Highlander.

Installed the front 886 coils and 90000 shocks along with 2 CV axle boot kits & both front wheel bearing assemblies from @BamaToy1997 . Took me about 5 hrs. I'm beat and my hands won't be clean for a month:rofl: Gained 1/2 inch in lift over the 3 inch spacer lift I removed, but that 1/2 inch will probably go away when bumper & winch are installed in a month or so. Happy with the ride...actually feels like a truck now.:muscleflexing:

For my wife the 4runner was just too much of a vehicle, if we lived out in the country it would have been fine. She is quite happy with the highlander though, I would have been happier with the 4 runner

I can go by the RadioShack in Berryville if I have the time Saturday. At this point I don't know how much I will be working. I will try to stay late Friday and knock most of it out so that I may able to be in Harper's Ferry by 1 or 2.

Can't you get heat shrink at an auto parts store?

Never thought to look at an auto parts or hardware store for heat shrink. I'll look around after work tomorrow. There's a Lowes, Ace, and a few auto stores I can check out.

Same aisle that has crimpers, fluke products, wire strippers. They hide it under electrical tape.

I know the feeling. I have a package that FedEx didn't deliver today because it needs a signature, a shipment at the Greyhound station, and another 4-5 smaller packages. Should have it all delivered/picked up by Friday.

I have had each now and just bought the new highlander and can say that it's got a lot of space (more) than the 4runner. Can you abuse the 4r more and not feel as bad about it...yeah. But, to be honest....unless you're doing some serious mods it's prob not worth it. The luxury/comfort/awd/soccer mom appeal aspect of the highlander is pretty nice too! Time to put an awning on it to really get it set up for the soccer fields!!! j/k I honestly would pick the trd pro 4r in an instant, but the wife went with all around practical use vehicle. That's ok.
