I went from that same size BFG to 255s ST Maxxes. Coopers seem smoother but that could just be because they are new. As far as harshness, probably about the same. It's an E rated tire on a very light, light duty truck. But I'm very happy with them so far.

I've had these tires for about a year now. 10,000 miles later and they still look great and have worn incredibly well. I decided to go with the 255/85/16 and never looked back. Most likely will be getting them again.

Waiting for another paycheck or so before ordering in 315's. I didn't read through the whole thread but I am excited to give these a try.

As long as they do something in the snow and don't wear out in 25k miles...I think I'll be plenty happy to consider it an upgrade to the MTRs .

I got some 275/70/17 today from @dwaltdtx. Need to install my 1.5" front lift (885's and 2nd gen 5100's) before I can put these on. Wheels are stock FJ wheels (17x7.5, +15). Hoping for no rubbing.

What was stock offset for you? When I put my 4Runner wheels on vice the factory ones, they tucked in an additional 15mm. Needed spacers bad. someday I'll get aftermarket wheels, maybe.

FJ stocks are 7.5 wide and +15 offset. Tacoma Sport stocks are 7.5 wide and +30 offset. So the FJ wheels are actually pushed out 15mm.

Looking at these to replace my duratracs before winter. Anyone have first hand experience with running them vs. duras and/or ko2's in the snow?
