4x4 automatic, but its stock with the 245/75/16 Dunflops tires, I just do regular maintainence and no real weight in the bed. try airing up the tires 34-35 psi when I did I gained some more miles

Man, you even have the 4x4 weight and rolling resistance. Yea i may give the tires a pump to see what helps.

I also like the better steering feel and firmer ride with the tires aired up, 32 psi seems a little too mushy.since gas prices are going up its great my truck gets 24 mpgs, although its very slow and has no power but that's the trade of when you go 4 banger

Window tint and wheels/tires so far. Trying to decide if I want a tonneau cover.

You know, I have a 2015 4-cyl 5-spd and my MPG are not anything to brag about.

I have 4-ply 265/75/R16s though, on factory steel wheels.

I was at SAMS yesterday and began eyeballing the KO2s in 245 stock size and may go to them next just to get back to factory gearing idea, I know they are heavier but I am curious.

CGP - what wheels are they? I am about to purchase Nokian Rotiiva AT Plus tires and had planned to put them on the stock steel wheels. But those wheels look sharp. I may have to re-consider...

    He has 4runner SR5 wheels,

Should be 17x7.5" with just a touch better offset when installed on our Tacomas.

I got the steels and factory 245 Dunflops still on, when these go imgetting Mich. Defenders in p245, im afraid going up to p265/70/16 might adversely affect the power/performance/mpgs. the lightest weight p245 AT tires are the Kumho AT51 ive found thru researching.

I would opt for a lightweight type tonneau as opposed to a fiberglass tonneau/cap increasing the weight in these 2.7l engines really reduces the power performance of the already small engine.

I went from the stock steel wheels and 245 Dunlops to a set of TRD OR wheels with 265/70 Firestone Destination LE2s. I've lost about 1 1/2 mpgs on both highway and in town driving. But, I really like the looks of the OR wheels on my black truck. I guess that's the price I have to pay.

Sorry for the late reply. These are the 17" SRG 4 runner wheels. They have an offset of 15 versus the 25 of the stock steel wheels.

I tried it and I wasn't pleased with the fact that my tire worn faster in the middle. I aired them back down to 30 psi and everything is fine. Still getting 19mpg, city driving, shell, tools, and 264/70/16 kumho road venture at51, P rated

Quoting for the info I just said over about the kumhos

are they TRD OR wheels the dealer optional Alloys or like the FJ type. I was going to buy some OR rims from someone who replaced them with aftermarket rims. that's quite a bit of MPGs lost going up to the 265/70 LEs I couldn't see the tires increasing the weight a couple of pounds, it must be heavier rims that's doing it.
