I've been trying to get someone in the Seattle area to step up but no one is biting and I'm in central Oregon so it would be pointless for me to take the reigns.

 

I just put a note into the email chain for PNW. I can't take deliver b/c I live in BC. I can't ask any of my friends in Seattle to deal with 10-15 Taco owners showing up at random times to pick shit up.

I'm very curious how many folks - on the entire list - are going to drop out when you start asking for a deposit.

Essentially it is closed. If at any point you were interested before I paused then closed it, then you have an opportunity to buy. Nothing is set in stone as there are so many people that were interested in so many different regions we are trying to get actual commitments to see how viable it is to get it for all regions. As of right now there are 3 shipping hubs. 1) California with 9 people 2) Texas with a boat load. A shipment will be picked up by @4Running Daily and taken to PHX. The last hub is Florida where @docloco will handle that region. I am waiting for confirmations from the PNW group, and if we can come to an agreement I will personally take it there.

The quote was $564 for the 2-3, $664 for the 4-5, $87 for the annex. This quote was for 40 people.

What is the price then?
I can't tell you because I need commitments (the current phase), and it also depends on what region you're in. The quoted price is shipped to the hub, so if you're not picking up from any of these hubs you will have to work with a member to meet him somewhere and that is another additional expense.

Once I can get a committed amount, I can give you all the BASE price shipped to the hub. There are many members willing to take shipments. I would also recommend finding people in your area and working with them so there is a contact in every city who will get that cities tents. This way would be most efficient and cheapest for all involved.

Finally, we are currently in the 40+ range so theoretically the price should be cheaper than the quote, but for all intents and purposes I want everyone to commit to the $564/$664 quote just to set expectations.

Thanks for taking time to respond. I personally did not express formal interest before it was closed. I think I actually started to get up to speed when it was open then by the time I understood roughly what was going on and went back to the first page the status had turned to closed. I am on the east coast about as far north as you can go in Maine so that complicates everything quite a bit for me if these are being shipped into Florida on the east coast. And, not to be a pain, but you still might want to cut and paste what you wrote to me above in post #1 in this thread as this update you have given me will quickly be buried as the regular thread chatter will make it harder to find. Maybe under the heading of "Group Buy Update-Today's Date & Time". Just a suggestion. I have subscribed to the thread so I will eat some popcorn and follow the fun!

Being the one driving to deliver all the tents on the East Coast, I have no problem bringing one to you as well. We already have one TW member in the Niagara Falls area. I'm sure we can come up with a meeting place suitable for everybody. So long as @Mrguitarguy01 let's you in.

Oh. That complicates things. I think you're the only one in Colorado so how would you want to get the tent?

WOW! I appreciate the invite. Looks like I have to make a decision. The only piece missing is the shipping piece. I understand you are driving to deliver the tents and appreciate you indicating that you are willing to bring one to me but I am not sure if you realize that from Niagara Falls to where I live in Maine is a 9 hour drive! One way! Have transportation costs been estimated yet? I would guess not as you do not know how many, and where they would be going.
