Since the city uses "salt, sand, and salt brine" during winter, from the cities website. Doesn't that mean the winter roads here are very harsh on our undercarriage? Similar to up north where you see all those rust problems?

I'd recommend washing the undercarriage when it warms up but I don't think we see the level of salt on our roads that the North East does.

Any body know of and kind of mounts I could use to mount a kayak onto my relentless bed bars? I want to mount on side of my tent. I think it will clear no problems if i can find a way to mount a system to the bars. I see the thule ones look good for the application but not sure if they will mount to my round bars. I just started to research this but so far not sure what I should do.

@growyourmind86, I have some Yakama kayak carriers that you're welcome to take a look at to see if you can get them to mount. I run them on square Thule bars FWIW but have two different style mounts for them to fit a variety of racks.

If it snowed here more than two times a year it might be an issue :D but really, just hose of your undercarriage and you should be good.

I drive my truck through a touchless car wash once a month in the winter just to get dirt off the outside and rinse the under carriage off.

Yup. In the winter I just take mine through a wash that has the undercarriage blasters. The salt really isn't bad here. They only put it down when it snows in the valley and they seem to sweep it up pretty quick after.

Sometimes I'm around Reno, but not too often, especially lately.

Im pretty sure Im going to be ordering it tonight or tomorrow... have already convinced myself and the girlfriend it is absolutely imperative in our lives.. lol...

Just read through your build thread. Makes me want it even more.

Any suggestions on where to order it from? What was your lead time like? Did you drive down to AZ to pick it up?

Also is the 8,600$ base price pretty consistent or does it fluctuate? Im assuming there aren't any discounts floating around yet.

I bought mine directly from ATO and drove down there to have them install it. As far as I know the pricing is pretty fixed, but they've been pretty good with service. I know a few issues have arisen with the habitat since release but I think they've been good about responding and correcting them. I met Martyn while I was there for the installation and he was really great, he and Mario obviously care a lot about making a great product.

Yeah, just call them, they also tend to not have the most current info on their site sometimes. Like when I ordered mine, I was actually just calling to find out if they made it for 2nd gen short beds because it didn't say they did online, but they were so I just placed my order then.
